I really love your articles. They are well written, interesting, and informative. I just discovered your web site yesterday, and I\’m reading everything on it. It is really getting me motivated to start riding. I\’ll be 64 soon, haven\’t taken the beginner safety class yet, and have never been on a bike except for sitting on one in the local H-D showroom! As soon as winter goes away up here, I\’ll be going to a class.
The advice to \”keep your head up and eyes looking forward\” is so helpful. It reminds me of a horseback riding instructor I had in the 80s who constantly told me that. It works! I could never figure out why it works until you mentioned that \”the hands follow the eyes.\” Thanks for adding that! There are still many mechanical/functional things about a motorcycle that I don\’t understand, but that\’s why I\’m reading your site and Googling specific topics. I love learning all about motorcycles and riding and I\’ll refer to your articles often. I\’m a bit nervous about actually getting on a bike for the first time, but jumping a horse over a 6-foot fence is kinda scary, too. I\’ll be fine with the bike! Safety first (and skill development!) Thanks so much for this web site!

    Best regards,

I bought Jerry’s Ride Like a Pro DVD six years ago and watched it over that winter, then practiced his drills whenever possible after the snow cleared. I could tell it was making a difference, and my Advanced Rider Course instructors said the same, so I kept doing them year after year, watching the DVD as a refresher and practicing especially each spring and whenever I changed bikes. All I can say that his techniques works not only with cruisers but also adventure-style motorcycles too, and they were a nice platform to have under me as I transitioned into dirt riding. These days I’ve added moto-trials to my palate where you really amp up the benefits of balance and clutch control while standing, and for me it added a whole ‘nother angle of insight into why his techniques work so well. Anyway, I wanted to add my voice to those who’ve benefited from Jerry’s instruction. Keep on keeping on man!

I’ve been following your videos for about 10 days now. Each one has been short, sweet, and very comprehensive! I have been practicing daily (as long as it’s not below 35 degrees up here in New York) while including your tips. They actually stick with me as I have been using them!!! Amazing! My confidence has completely turned around! I’ve had a Softail and then recently got a Ultra Limited. Going from the Softail to the bagger added 300 lbs in weight and 3 inches in height which was pretty intimidating for me. Especially at 5’6. Even more concerning was the safety of my wife while riding on the back of it! I don’t care how long someone says they have been riding. In my view, there’s always room for improvement! I just bought the course. I recommend it to anyone, at any level of riding! I look forward to developing stronger reaction skills to the things you can’t control when out there riding. Just a note of relevance. I have seen at least 6 real hard core bikers with years of experience go down in the last year. All lived but, one lost his leg, and some will never ride again. THIS IS IMPORTANT information to pay attention to. I could save your life!

    Hi Jerry .
Thanks for your help in ride like a pro. You and your wife are awesome in teaching us how to ride. I am 61 retired firefighter of 39 years. I bought a herratige soft tail 1991cto ride. So your instructions help lots. I will be ordering your book and video on pay day. Thank you again. Rick the fireman

Obstacle avoidance is only one of the key factors in surviving a motorcycle ride. As a wrecker operator I spend a lot of time on the freeway. I witness many mistakes by riders and I always wonder how much time they really spend practicing obstacle avoidance. I also see riders dragging their feet down in heavy slow moving traffic. Among other things like stunt riding splitting lanes and riding the shoulder at freeway speeds.

Just before I ordered your videos I asked if you had a lot of advertisement in your videos. I gave it some thought and before you could answer me I ordered your complete set. I have to tell you I was impressed by many things First your quick response to my question. I sent my question then ordered your videos then I noticed your reply. At that point you made a loyal customer.

I was also impressed by your teaching format. You explain the task that needs to be learned then why then how by setting up the task and showing the viewer how to perform the task. No long advertisement, in a video I already purchased, just excellent advice and task training. Your videos along with “The Book” are a valuable addition to my collection.

One of the things that often plagued me was the U Turn. Sometimes I could nail it then other times I didn’t have the confidence to perform the task. You explained how to perform the maneuver and now I can nail it. No more riding 3 blocks to turn around. Obviously self-taught is not the way to go.

I am looking forward to your updates and, when I have time, taking “The Book” and a bunch of cones to an empty parking lot and Just practicing tasks all day.

Thank you again Jerry and Donna for helping me and other become safer riders

    Mr. Palladino!

    All I have to say is WOW… ! ! !

I ordered two of your video’s (The NEW Ride like a Pro & Mean Streets) on August 10th, and even with my busy schedule, I was so impressed and interested that I finished watching them both, as of last night.

I’ve been riding since 1977…. mini-bikes, motocross, sport bikes, cruisers and now my Ultra, and I learned TONS from your videos ! ! ! (My only regret is to have not ordered these DVD’s, or taken your course much-MUCH earlier.)

I “thought” I was probably a “better than average rider,” but… I now realize I have MANY opportunities to be much-MUCH better. Thank You!

My intention is to set-up the practice sessions ASAP. I am “excited” to get out and learn ! ! !

A couple of things that I would like to share:
    • Your Customer Service is exceptional.
    • The videos were VERY well made and produced.
    • The materials flowed very nicely, and the delivery was very intuitive in terms of the progressive application of the techniques.
    • Your teaching methods were direct and concise, and “drove home” the necessary points with the appropriate frequency/repeativeness to learn.
    • I often found myself forming a question in my mind, that you literally answered in the very next breath.
    • Lastly, I was very impressed with the coordination of the video footage examples and verbal instruction.

    EXCEPTIONAL job… Thank You!

I first saw Jerry “Motorman” on YouTube and thought that he was both genius and entertaining.
I purchased the “New Ride Like a Pro” (digital download) and the “Ride Like a Pro” text book. Those combined with the website video clips have really changed my riding world. Basically, in control, no fear, and confident. I don’t think that I have any “instincts” about motorcycle riding anymore, they’ve been replaced by proper training and practice. I followed every exercise IN ORDER and that was important. Never dropped the bike. Never duckwalk (anymore), feet up. I am still practicing, but I amazed myself at how everything came together. At first I thought that because my Harley’s wheelbase is 64.2″ that I would not get the 12′ cone weave spacing. Started at 15′, went to 13′, once I got the technique, 12′ was no problem. I bought some 7″ orange cones for a buck each (Amazon). Warning: At one point I purchased a video series at another website and it was so inferior by comparison to “Ride Like a Pro” that I had to get a refund.

If anybody is interested I’ve got a story where the”Motorman’s” videos were very helpful. I’d been riding for years but never rode anything above a 600 cc mostly sport bikes. My youngest son had his heart set on getting a Harley Davidson Street Glide. He bought one at a Harley Dealership over 100 miles from where he lived. He only had a learners permit at the time was an inexperienced rider and there was no way he was going to ride this big bike home. Me “Pops” got elected to ride it home. I’d never ridden a big Harley ever. So the idea of riding this bike through traffic etc. made me a bit nervous. That’s when I discovered the “Motorman’s” videos on you tube. To say the least his tips on handling big bikes was super helpful. When we got the bike I took it around the dealership parking lot twice and off I went. To face hectic traffic over the Golden Gate Bridge.Bay Area San Francisco traffic on a Friday during commuter traffic hour time. To make a long story short everything went fine especially using Jerry’s tips. The videos were helpful in teaching my son to ride and since that time I wound up getting a Harley myself. Thanks Jerry for the great tips on your videos keep it up Hopefully my experience will benefit others to pay attention to these instructions on how to ride because they really do help when on the road riding.

  10. Kenny - March 8th, 2018

I\’m 52 years old and have ridden for years, and as I get older I need to practice riding regularly and adhere to proper and safe techniques as you all know. I\’ve just retired from the fire service and have decided to work part time for a motor escort company. I\’m still in the hiring process and today was my ride along for a funeral procession and a skills/ability review. The review was a number of u-turns, figure eights, emergency stopping and slow roll. After I was finished the manager said, \”I can see you do watch and practice the ride like a pro videos. You\’re the only one I\’ve seen do u-turns with the weave to set yourself up like Jerry teaches on the videos. I do it that way too.\” Passing that was really special and it\’s because of Ride Like a Pro!

Your videos make my motor cycle riding safer, give me confidence, and so much more enjoyment than in years past.

    Thank you,

Bought the Ride Like a Pro V and Surviving the Mean Streets a few years ago, and have been a changed rider ever since. My buddy and I ride Drifter 1500s and break it out every so often and go out do some practice runs. We take a DVD player and set it up so we can go over the techniques on breaks. When we are practicing people think we are instructors, but we make enough mistakes that we know we are amateurs. We keep trying to get other bikers in our area to ride safer, but its not easy. Thanks for the videos Jerry! Maybe you can set up a school in Kansas City….We need one in Kanas and Missouri

  12. Chloe - November 5th, 2017

Hi Jerry, Nine years ago after my Mummy died, my Daddy brought your videos when he started riding again after nearly 30 years off a bike. Since then we have covered nearly 300000km with me on the back which includes 180000km travelling all over Australia raising money for my little charity. Daddy was so impressed with you videos then he has just purchased the new set for his bike club library to help new riders. You can see our rides on my little blog http://www.iridewithchloe.com

I felt motivated to write a thank you for your lessons. I got into riding late in life (39 when i got my first bike in 2008) and upon the advice of some fellow internet forum members I purchased a couple DVDs from you. They helped me to be far more comfortable and competent on my V Star 1300. I\’m actually from your neck of the woods (born in Oldsmar and moved out here to Wyoming from Holiday), and I get a kick out of seeing some familiar sites on your videos, too. Once again, thank you for producing an excellent easy-to-follow course for the average rider…bet you’ve saved thousands of them from low-speed flops! God bless you and the family, Jerry.

  14. Tim - September 22nd, 2017

    Good evening,

I was wondering if you could please add me to the distribution list for your newsletters. I have purchased the Ride Like a Pro DVD and book, and just this evening bought three of your digital downloads. I have to say how incredibly helpful all of your training materials have been. I own a 2012 Goldwing, and your training has improved my skills and confidence considerably. Still lots of work to do, but I try to take a few minutes every time I ride to work on sharpening a skill. Thank you for all you do to make motorcycling safer and more enjoyable!

Thank You So Much!!! I recently purchased the digital Ride-Like-A-Pro-HD and started practicing. This is the 2nd week and today, all of a sudden, I saw the light! Oh, so THAT’s the friction zone! I was amazed at how small a circle I could make (Turn You’re Head!!!) Double idle revs, friction zone, rear brake, turn your head – Hey! It Works!!! Can now move forward through the rest of the extensive program with confidence. I can honestly say that I’ve never enjoyed motorcycling as much as I did today! 2017 Harley Low-Rider FXDL 103

    Message: Hi Jerry;
Two years ago I bought the Ride Like A Pro videos after 12 years of mediocre, unenjoyable riding. I practiced the skills and I started to really love riding a motorcycle. I really have to thank you for making this information available though because other than my riding being better and more enjoyable, the skills you teach have saved me personally twice. The emergency braking was a life saver. In both cases my back wheel locked up but I could hear you saying \” don\’t release the brake, pump the front brake and down shift.\” Had it not been for the information on the videos I more than likely would’ve panicked and laid the bike down. That paired with the control I have over the bike saved me from two crashes. So I just wanted to thank you and let you know that everything you’ve done has helped another rider and maybe even saved a life. I always recommend Ride Like A Pro to everyone I know.

  17. Mitch - June 7th, 2017

    Hi Jerry,
Just wanted to say I learned more in the first 10 minutes of your video than 16 hours of training here in Jerusalem.
I\’m a returning rider after a 25 year hiatus. Was originally trained by a PA State Trooper in Penna. wear I grew up.
No one explained to me here the proper use of the clutch nor how to properly weave through cones. They kind of just throw you out on the lot, every man for himself.
My only regret is the for the money I blew over hear I could have paid for a flight to Florida to learn from the Master himself.

    Much Obliged,

  18. Steve Allen - May 25th, 2017

    Jerry and Donna,

My son and I both thoroughly enjoyed your class on May 21,2017. Although I have been riding for many years and had previously purchased your video, this class definitely improved my skills and confidence in handling the motorcycle. The class was very organized and conducted in a very professional manner. Jerry kept it very entertaining and is very effective at communicating and demonstrating the skills needed to successfully complete the course.

Although we plan to practice these skills on our own, we plan to take this class periodically to help maintain a high skill level.

Thank you for a great experience.

  19. Jose Torres - May 21st, 2017

    Jerry, Donna,

Thank you very much for the training today. The class was fenomenal!! I learned a lot and feel that I have gained additional skills I needed to continue to be a safe rider.

My plan is to keep practicing and come back to see if I can beat my time on the challenge!

Thank you both for a great training and great day!

  20. Mark - January 25th, 2017

Wanted to let you know about my day one experience practicing Ride Like a Pro.
I ride a Honda VTX 1800. Big, heavy, and long.
After reading the first 6 chapters I found a lot and did the slow race. Amazing. Forced myself to slow race between a seam line and the fire lane line. Amazingly easy.
As my confidence grew I did a few fairly tight turns, though had not set up a course.

After 45 minutes of practice, with no cones or chalk lines I was doing 2 full circles in each direction at full handlebar lock!!

I still had my bags on so I didn’t get too aggressive with the weave. I have my tennis balls cut in 1/2 and tomorrow I take the bags off and weave.

Great course. I can’t wait to get back out there. Being able to improve so much in such a short time gives me a new inspiration to ride!

I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

For anyone riding a motorcycle or a bicycle for that matter, Motorman’s videos are THE best investment a rider can make. After going through the initial program once or twice, one hour twice a year in a large lined parking lot will make a huge improvement to anyone’s riding skills. It’s a lot of fun and you will be amazed at the difference it makes on the road. Miles better than the advice your buddy gives you as he duck walks his 20 point U turn.

To me riding is an adventure. I’ve never been lost. When the road ends, not a problem, if I need to I can wheel the decker around in 22 ‘ with ease, and 20’ if I absolutely have to. Thanks Motorman!

I am sure you have heard this thousands of times throughout the years. But i just have to send a note to say:
thank you, thank you, thank you for deciding to offer motorcycle training to the public. I have 3 of your dvd\’s, and the book also.
I watch the dvd\’s, and read the book daily . I found an empty parking lot to train in and practice during my weekly ride. I actually prefer to work on skills training instead of going for a ride. Your dvd\’s are exceptionally clear, well laid out and explained. Also must say the straight forward non-BS approach is really appreciated….

I bought a bike last year, after not riding for 35 years. I was really apprehensive to ride – really concerned about being safe – myself on the bike, and also on the road with traffic. Thanks to your teachings i am improving daily . I am planning to travel down to take your course next year, looking forward to it.

    Hi Jerry

I just wanted to thank you personally for saving my dream of riding a Harley.

At 65 years old and semi retired I bought my 2010 Electra Glide Ultra Limited 4 months ago, a dream come true, but after dropping it a couple of times, and struggling with low speed maneuvers, I became almost frightened to take it out, and was almost ready to sell it on.

Then I saw your on line tips, bought your Ride Like A Pro DVD, and following your instructions with practice I have regained my confidence, and now get out riding at every opportunity, British weather permitting.

I can’t thank you enough, you put in simple and easy to follow terms what seemed to me to be impossible maneuvers, and the pleasure I have experienced in such a short time performing them has been immense, who knows, I may even enroll on one of your courses, it would be worth the journey for me.

    Again, many thanks

    Kind regards

    Kevin Clacher

Excellent Kevin. I bought my Harley at age 64 and I must admit I was scared to death (nearly). I don’t know how I rode home from the dealer but I think I had help from above.

    Mr. Jerry!

What a fantastic DVD you have generated in the New Ride Like A Pro! It is dead-ass winter here in Michigan and I am a new rider since September. I swear I\’m gonna bring that custom Honda VTX 1300 C into my living room and fire it up to try some of your techniques! I do very well for a newbie, but I can\’t wait to show off in the spring what I learn from your DVD!

Thanks and it\’s the best $30 I have ever invested in!

Take care and wishing you all the best, Jerry!

  26. Ray Garafano - November 23rd, 2015

I was looking at the crazy stuff people do on or with motorcycles on YOUTUBE and
came across Jerry’s ridelikeapro, . WELL!I I watched with as much interest as Jerry
did umteen years ago when He saw the officers riding these big-ass heavy bikes
    on a t.v. program.

Then I bought the course, 5 video’s and The BOOK, damn I could not wait. went to Wal-Marts and bought out all their tennis balls took’em home an split’em in half.

I found a good parking lot at a school and started doing his exercises Palladino’s right !
The 3 techniques work, I got to doing U-turns in twenty feet with some serious counter weighting,, snapping the head an eyes and use of friction zone with a bit of rear brake

Jerry has done a GR8 job for the biker, and his wife gets these items out faster than
    lightning! THANKS!
Hey Jerry & family, Happy thanksgiving!

I keep the book in the head for some serious multi-tasking

    • Ride Like A Pro - November 23rd, 2015

Thanks Ray! Good to hear that my videos and Book are helping you master the three techniques…keep up the good work with practice, your skill and riding enjoyment along with your confidence will grow by leaps and bounds. Have a great Thanksgiving and a very, Merry Christmas!

  27. Carl Hawkins - November 23rd, 2015

Love the DVDS and have practiced some of the maneuvers. I’m an experienced rider but I live in Tennessee where there is of course a lot of hills. Any advice you can give. I’m also riding a Goldwing GL1500 which is the biggest bike I have ever driven. Carl Hawkins

    • Ride Like A Pro - November 23rd, 2015

Carl…Do you have our Ride Like a Pro on the Dragon dvd? It also comes with a bonus disc with additional riding through the mountains. It doesn’t matter if you ride a Goldwing, the three techniques work on any two-wheeled vehicle. Have you been practicing the exercises shown in my New Ride Like a Pro? In that video, we have a 4’9″, little girl, riding a Goldwing through the course with skill and confidence. Practice, practice, practice.

  28. Barb Pons - November 18th, 2015

Ride Like A Pro is NOT KIDDING when they tell you your skills will improve 100%. I’ve taken a number of courses, and nothing–repeat, NOTHING–did for me what Jerry and Donna did for me last weekend. If you’re on the fence about whether or not to do this class, get off of it right now and sign up. You won’t regret it!

Personally, I cannot wait to get back out this weekend and practice!

Thanks, Jerry and Donna…you guys changed my life!

    • Ride Like A Pro - November 23rd, 2015

You’re welcome, Barb! You are the most amazing lady GoldWing rider we’ve ever had go through our class!!! We are so proud of you and so happy that you won the BEST rider in the class trophy! Hope to see you and your hubby within the year at another one of our classes. Keep riding safe and remember, practice, practice, practice. 🙂

Thanks so much, Charles! You did FANtastic at class today! Donna has your picture discs ready to mail out to you tomorrow. Glad you’re enjoying our videos, remember, practice is the key. You’re on your way to becoming one of the top 2% of riders in America Charles! Hope to see you at another class within the year. Have a great Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

  30. Joe Sanchez - November 1st, 2015

    Hi Jerry,

I want to thank you and Donna for giving me the opportunity to take your class! I really enjoyed it and learned a lot from both of you! I was very impressed in the way you both handled the bike! It was an amazing sight to see!! I am so sorry that I wasn’t the perfect student! I feel like I had a hard time finding the friction zone and turning my head quickly. I also had a little bit of fear of dropping the bike which didn’t help at all. I promise I am going to practice every weekend until I get the exercises perfect. I am determined to master these exercises! I can’t believe that I have been riding for 17 years, and I felt like a new rider today during the course! I am so glad that I purchased your DVD’s and the book. I will definitely be practicing as much as I can on the weekends. I also plan on taking the course again and mastering it this time! Thanks again for all your help and patience with me when teaching me the class. Hope you and Donna have a great year! I hope to see you soon for my second class!! You are both very awesome at what you do! I really appreciate everything that you do!

    Thank you,

    Hey Mr. Motorman,

Thank you for quick delivery and a fine product.

I ordered your full set after a dumb low speed U-turning spill that damaged my pristine Suzuki S40 and my confidence as a rider, not to mention my desire to move up to a larger V-twin.

Your material is right on the bull’s eye of areas where I was ignorant. It will make me (and my wife) far better riders. It’s hard to put a price on that.

Thanks again to you and Ms. Palladino.

  32. D. Blount - October 6th, 2015

I plan on buying your book and DVD but I thought you would like to hear this story.
Sept. 19 was the first time I had ever ridden a motorcycle and that was in my California Motorcycle Safety Program class. I passed the class, and only recently received my permit and my M1 license.
But prior to the class I believe I watched a number of your online videos and read everything you posted online at least twice: Friction zone, rear brake, head and eyes. “Don’t look down, the bike will go down.” “Dip the bike and it will turn.” etc.
Well it was a great help in me in passing my class and handling the 2009 Suzuki V-Strom 650 ABS I purchased as my first motorized bike (I usually pedal bicycles).

Today I commuted to work. As I was leaving for a lunchtime errand, a co-worker’s very expensive, vintage Harley was parked next to my bike in a fenced-off area.So when I returned I had to make a u-turn in a tight area to park between his Harley and a rod-iron fence. I ride by his bike toward the fence, working friction zone and rear brake. I turn my head and tell myself to look where I wanted to go, instead of looking at the fence.

I made the turn and parked my bike like a pro.
Geez, I wonder how all of this will work once I actually get the real materials?

    Officer Palladino;

Sir, please accept my thanks for a great program and expert local training alternatives.

Having purchased the DVD, I contacted Master Instructor Felix Claudio (Colorado Springs) and recently completed the first of what I plan on being several/many training sessions. Having ridden on and off for some 40 years, I contacted Felix to help get me over the hump with my new 2015 Road King. He not only achieved that objective, but also noted and helped me correct other bad riding habits. After just a few hours I am *much* more comfortable but also acknowledge that I have a long way to go. Thanks to the DVD content and training from Felix, I actually now know what I should be doing.

Subject: Kudos to your crew in MA

I took the Ride Like a Pro course yesterday in MA, taught by Dave Elias. I have to say that it was a humbling experience. Up until yesterday, I thought I was pretty good at some of these slow speed maneuvers. I was wrong.

I learned a whole lot yesterday- real world stuff like making a u-tun on the fly in a very tight space and how to keep the motorcycle upright at an almost stall speed. The most important take away from yesterday is clutch, brake, throttle, head, and eyes. I put it all together a few times but not as often as I would have liked. I’ll be working on some of those techniques and will definitely take the course again next spring.

This morning I know more than ever what I don’t know but at least I know what and how to practice.

Your team, led by Dave Elias, in MA is very knowledgeable and skilled. They presented everything in an easy to understand manner – showed us first then demonstrated. It was a great day, albeit tiring.

thanks for speeding that thing my way. This is the 4th one I buy and I’m positive I’ll view it many times too.

Gotta tell ya, you and your gang, well you’re all fun to watch, but you also gave me a bit of motivation. I saw you and Marianne handling those bikes like toys, and I knew then that my technique is what needs to improve. And it has, but I can always improve more and thus this purchase. I’ve also snuck clips of you riding, into what my wife watches. I’m hoping she may someday see you mastering that big ole bike and realize she too could do the same. Dunno that it will or won’t convince her, but I appreciate you providing the example just the same.

Have fun out there, you crazy kids. / Vic

  37. Harvey Warshawsky - July 11th, 2015

Sir, Just wanted to say thanks for that DVD “Ride Like A Pro”. It was a great POI (Program of Instruction). Having been an instructor for the US Army teaching Motor Transport AKA Tractor-Trailer. Your course was well laid out with a progression of difficulty from segment to segment. Demonstrated from all angles with thorough explanation.
I started riding motorcycles upon my return from Vietnam in 1968. Riding a lot of years at a low skill level. Since applying the techniques from the DVD my riding has a new meaning. I ride with confidence in my ability even in tight locations. I was getting fearful of certain maneuvers especially with my wife up. Was even considering going to a trike. Have told all my friends about your DVD& how my riding has improved.

Thank You Harvey Warshawsky Spring Hill Fl.

  38. Jim Farnell - July 2nd, 2015

For the past three years, I have been the facilitator/coordinator of Ride Like A Pro sponsored by the Tuscarawas County HOG Chapter out of Adventure Harley Davidson in Dover, Ohio. My good friends, Gary Lewandowski and Cliff Crabtree, bring RLAP-Great Lakes to northeast Ohio from Detroit and conduct 3 sessions over the last weekend in June. Over that time and through 9 sessions some 80 riders have availed themselves of the opportunity and become better, safer and more confident riders, including me and my wife. In fact, I was in Gary\’s first RLAP class and we have since struck up a fast friendship. This year marked the 5th time I have spent an afternoon under Gary\’s tutelage. I am nearly 65 years old and in my 45th riding season. Gary and Cliff stay in my home, which affords Peggy and me a chance to pick their brains over drinks and dinner and talk about the other things friends talk about.

I purchased your new video, Short Cuts from Gary on Saturday and viewed it this morning. THANK YOU for producing this video. I will retire in on December 24, 2015 and I want compete in some of the police riding competitions around the country because this stuff is so much fun and I love to compete. I practice as much as I can, rain or shine. Your new video has offered me so many new ideas how to quickly set up a parking lot with a few or no cones and it make as challenging as I can. My Tour Pak holds ten or twelve 18\” cones and a collapseable measuring wheel. Now, for example, I can set up an intersection or a snowman or bleeding ulcer in 5-10 minutes and get an hour or two of practice in. I pass a local high school coming home from work. I will go in there for about15 minutes doing u-turns, circles and weaves. Now, thanks to Short Cuts, I can utilize the time and space better and improve the quality of my practice.

For me, this is the most useful RLAP video I own, as I strive to be able to do all the exercises on the Police Training section in your full length RLAP video.

Riding skillfully safe and loving it!!!

  39. Dan - June 24th, 2015

Hi, Dan from Canada. A new rider with only one season under my belt. Wanting to improve my skills, purchased Ride like a Pro and examined / practiced the techniques. I just passed the Advanced Course held by Safety Services of Nova Scotia. Another student bought the combo pack and really enjoyed passing also. The great thing about the DVD’s is, it can be watched over and over again. When I was doing the exercises in the course, I could hear Jerry’s voice in my head saying, “Head and eyes, snap your eyes to the next cone”. I attribute that ongoing inner voice was due to watching the DVD over and over again many times, and not the early onset of insanity. My next purchase is the combo pack as the other student highly recommended surviving the Mean Streets. My instructor mentioned he was impressed how I handled a 1700 Road Star as a new rider. I started riding that bike 2 weeks after getting my bike license. Started with a 1100 V Star, but my wife didn’t like the colour, so I bought a black 1700 Road Star to replace it. Though I passed the Advanced Course, plan to continue practicing weekly, as riding is a life long study. Thanks Jerry for your training, as it has proven to work on a rookie like me. Best Regards, Dan.

  40. Terry Newson - May 13th, 2015

Hello Sir , I just wanted to thank you for a great video. Although I did not get an opportunity to attend your class in person your video helped me get through motor school. Every night after class I reviewed your video like it was homework, and each day I got better until I was able to go through the course at will. I originally had issues coming out of the 360 or what you call the “key hole” exercise. But after watching Victoria pierce roll through it like a pro it gave me the motivation I needed to finally get it, which didn’t happen until today when I had to do my three clean runs to pass the course. Thanks again.. Since this is a perishable skill I may still get to your class sometime soon.

I would just like to say a big thank you to both Jerry and Donna for making my trip here to Florida both memorable and magical. It’s been an absolute pleasure to have met you both.

Some people back in the UK thought I was mad coming all the way over to Florida just to do some training on a Harley Davidson. They were wrong !! It’s been the best thing I’ve done for ages and has made me a much safer rider.

I did Jerry’s ride like a pro course on Sunday and found it thoroughly enjoyable, well-organized and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of improving their skills.
I noticed I vast improvement with everybody’s skills by the end of the course. It’s amazing how it can boost your confidence. Donna, it was great fun riding through the course together and helped me to ride to my limits. I don’t know how you do it but you make it look so easy.

I have a Road glide ultra CVO back home and have been nervous making U-turns on it for fear of dropping it. Several people convinced me that I’d bought the wrong bike and that it was too big and heavy for me. I’m now in a position to tell those people they were wrong and it has nothing to do with the size and weight of the bike, it’s all about the ability and skill of the rider.

I also did some private lessons with Jerry which I would also highly recommend. Be prepared to work hard as he will put you through your paces. He’s a true gent, a professional and a pleasure to spend time with.

    • Bruce Crabtree - May 7th, 2015

purchased the DVD recently and have to say it was a great investment. Owning a BMW K1600GT I am very aware of the weight, despite riding for over 30 years, but going through the training exercises makes a real difference. My wife has also been working on her skills, riding a Moto Guzzi Norge, with the same outcome. Living in the Scottish Highlands, we have fantastic roads for biking, and now have a lot more confidence. In August we are off to Norway for a biking trip, this DVD sure helps with the preparation.
Many thanks, just start the courses over here please.

      • Bruce Crabtree - December 17th, 2015

Having driven from Inverness to Norway,( via a few ferries of course!), I can only say, thanks Jerry for enabling us to ride safety, enjoy the mountain roads on fully loaded bikes, and start to plan a return trip as soon as we got back after three weeks , covering 2,800 miles.
Now, if you cantell l me how to avoid punctures in the next DVD, that would be great 😀
Thanks for a great product for bikers.

    • Ride Like A Pro - May 5th, 2015

Hello Peter! Thanks so much for your positive words and feedback about our Ride Like a Pro classes and training with Jerry. It was a delight being able to meet you and ride with you. You are an excellent rider and we know good things will be happening for you as you move forward in your training and ventures. Have a safe journey back across the pond!!

  42. Jan Grosse - April 23rd, 2015

    Hi Jerry and Donna,
Thank you both for a great class, I really enjoyed watching it. Thank you for the CD of photos- great shots. You both are fantastic. I could see how much better all the riders got by the end and how their confidence was better as well. You are a great instructor and as a team teach a fantastic class. You both work hard to get the riders to ride like a pro and it shows how much you care about them. I have to tell you that Milt has been telling everyone he talks to about the class, I find all these diagrams of the course drawn on small pieces of paper all over at work from his conversations with people so he is showing them what he did. And last weekend our 1/2 mile long driveway at the farm was the set up with “spent” red solo cups filled with some water to hold them in place and it became the weave course -there is enough room at the end to do a nice u-turn and come back and do it again with the upper part of the driveway to do a half of the clover leaf. All day off and on he was doing the course. My calves in the field next to the driveway were his audience, they were fascinated and it was funny watching their heads following him as he went as they tried to look between the fence boards. I will have to say I got a bit nervous when it was threatening rain and he came in and was measuring the dining room. I think he is addicted…. Thanks again and we will see you in Leesburg! You both are the best! Jan

  43. Emma Haynes - April 12th, 2015

This is a message for Jerry.

Thank you very much for your blog about turning. I live in the UK and came off my bike the day before my final test on a very tight turn to the right down tiny back streets. I stalled the bike and then traffic came at me so fast having fallen off the bike. It happened early in my training day and from then on my courage of doing these turns to the right just left me and I very nearly had some very difficult incidents. I ended the day very down hearted and very scared. The following morning I read your blog (i put in a google search about help with tight turns and yours came up!) Although yours was about turning to the left I guess (different side of the road to me!) wow your helpful hints made a HUGE difference to me. I kept my head and eyes looking directly where to go and I kept the revs up much more than I had been. I left for my test with some big deep breaths and I passed straight away with only 2 minor faults! I am so happy that I read your blog. Thank you so much.
Your tips were by far the most useful from all my training and I will now try and get the rest of your dvds and tips. Incidentally, now that I have passed, I will go straight and book some more advanced lessons and aim to keep on learning.

Emma (from the UK, 47 and a very very newbie biker, with a handful of days on a 650cc bike!).

Hi Motorman, I really enjoyed your show at Daytona Bike Week at Rossmeyer’s. I got a Cushman in ’57 for Christmas. Wore it out. Rode very little in the 70’s and started back in the early 80’s and have rode every since. The things I learned were by hard knocks and self taught. I, like you said at Rossmeyer’s, thought I was a very good rider, but, “you don’t know anything about riding a motorcycle, but you will after this course.” Nice quote, but very true. There were a lot of things in this video that I was doing by experience but didn’t know what it was called. This video cleared up any questions I had about turns and slow riding and taught me some technique i needed to know. The best buy I have made lately. Thank You Motorman.

    Hi Jerry and Team,

My wife and I had the pleasure of watching your riding demonstrations at Rossmeyer’s HD at Destination Daytona during Bike Week. We were AMAZED at not only your skill but the two beautiful ladies on your teams’ skills. My wife was blown away at how easy they made it look riding those big, heavy, Electra Glides. She was contemplating buying something smaller, but after watching your shows and buying your complete package, she’s decided on a Road King. We can’t thank ya’ll enough for your expertise and for sharing that expertise with your fellow riders. We still can’t believe what we saw while watching you and your team ride. Kudo’s to you and your fantastic team. We hope you’ll be back there for Biketoberfest as we’ll be bringing many friends to observe your shows and finally learn how to ride the correct way, all thanks to you!

Thanks! Your DVD’s have been very helpful to me as a new rider (new in that I haven’t ridden in about 50 years). I recently took the MSF course through my local Harley dealer, and I strongly recommended to everyone in the class that they follow up and get the Ride Like a Pro videos and watch them repeatedly (as I am doing). The MSF course was great and included two days on bikes, but in many ways I think your videos are better, and I like to have Jerry’s instructions replaying in my head as I continue to slowly and safely learn to ride my full size Harley. Much appreciate everything you are doing!

    Hi Jerry and Donna

After 5 years of the wife riding behind, She said it was time for her to learn to ride. I found her a good used R80 BMW, and order your Video and book learn to ride the easy way. With in a hour she was riding on her own, We marked out the course at the local school parking lot. She is practicing 3 afternoon a week. With your video and book it gave her a lot of confidence and made all the difference in the world.

Thanks for the great product !!!!!!!!!

I bought you NEW Shortcuts to Riding Like a Pro last week. OUTSTANDING piece of work, you really hit it out of the ballpark with this video. I have all your videos and book and I swear, they should be mandatory for ALL riders before they ever think about getting on a motorcycle. Keep up the good work and keep ’em coming, we appreciate everything you do for riders around the world.

Thank You! I purchased your combo set as a gift from my wife for Christmas. I practice every ride but you make so clear my mistakes preventing from improvement until i followed your book and the visual dvd lessons. Wow
I am going to talk to my favorite mc shop Skagit Power Sports and will post your business cards. Every new and old rider would benefit as your course goes far beyond the Washington state required skills. Ride Like a Pro saves lives and is a huge bonus to the skills and the pure enjoyment of riding.
You are a national treasure to the sport.

    Hi Jerry,

I received your Ride Like A Pro Dvd & book yesterday, & just wanted to say thanks for the
speedy dispatch & delivery.I’ve watched the dvd already & started reading the book.

I found out about Ride Like A Pro through YouTube,& thought I’d try the techniques.
I now realise, having read the first part of the book that there is a definate sequence in which
these skills have to be learnt.

I can’t wait to get out & start learning. Thanks again & all the best for the festive season.

    Martin Byrne.

  53. Rob Suthann - November 17th, 2014

I just ordered your dvd, ride like a pro, on friday and got it already on monday. I have already watched it, and am anxious to try some of the techniques in a nearby parking lot.I have been riding my panhead since 1970, and saw your demo at biketoberfest. I realized that I was not comfortable with doing a u tum, or figure 8 like I saw in daytona. I won\’t claim to be a\’ duck waker\’ but am anxious to try the new techniques.

I may start on the sportster, but definitely will use the panhead afterwards.
thank you for getting it in the mail so fast, I am definitely happy with the service and quality of the dvd. a satisfied customer,

  54. Tim B. - November 13th, 2014

Well….I had a really close call this year. An on coming car made a left turn right in front of me. Everything happened so fast yet somehow in slow motion. I got on the brakes hard…locked both tires, let off the front brake and swerved to left and missed the back of the pickup truck by no less than about six inches. I never had a chance to take your course, but I have watched the DVD’s and I credit that for possibly saving my life. After watching the videos I actually went out and practiced the techniques demonstrated and vastly improved my riding skills…thank you Motor Man! I have recommended, borrowed, and encouraged everyone I know that rides to watch those DVD’s. Thanks again and keep the knees in the breeze and the shinny side up!

  55. Jeffrey Hollander - November 3rd, 2014

    Hi Jerry-

I just received the 4 DVD combo pack and started to watch them. I had previously purchased Vol. V but wanted to see all the new stuff. I started riding when I was 17 and worked my way up over the years from a Honda 160 to my current ride, a 2002 HD Ultra Firefighter. I was a fire commissioner when it first came out and got one of the first off the line in 2002. I am now 63 years old and was considering a lighter bike until I started to practice the “brake/friction clutch” technique that you teach.

I am not only impressed with your communications and riding skills, I am also very impressed with the quality of the videos/sound, packaging of the DVD’s and written material. Within minutes of my online order, I received a string of emails detailing the status of the order and within an hour an email that it had been shipped! That’s phenomenal!

I live in Dade City (not far from your Hudson training center) and intend to sign up for a class in the spring.

Question: I couldn’t help noticing the LED modulated brake bar mounted on your tour pack. I would like to purchase one for my bike. Do you by any chance of the make/model and company that I can order them from?

Thank you and bless you and your wife for all that you both do to help people learn to ride properly and stay safe.

    Jeffrey Hollander

  56. Colin Manion - November 1st, 2014

Been riding 40 years now and just love ALL the DVD’s and use many of the techniques in my business. Excellent skills to learn and use, slow riding is something we should all master.

  57. Anthony B - October 29th, 2014

Thanks for the great show in Thunder Beach this year ! First time I’ve ever seen you guys in person and I was in awe at how you all handled the bikes, especially the women. I’ve been riding since 1967 and thought I knew a lot but I realized how much I didn’t know when I caught your show. Thanks again for the lessons and best of luck to you, Jerry and your family.

  58. Angela Dunn - October 24th, 2014

I saw your shows at Destination Daytona during biketoberfest, simply amazing. THANK YOU for showing me that size or strength has nothing to do with riding a motorcycle with skill and confidence. The two lady riders on your team have inspired me to move up from my Heritage to a Street Glide. I was worried about the SG being too big and heavy, the two tiny ladies you have riding their Electra Glides in your show proved your point. I bought your package deal and have begun practicing the techniques and can honestly say that seeing you and your team and now watching your videos has been the best money spent on me and my motorcycle. I hope you will be back there for Bike Week, if so, I’m bringing all my rider friends to see your shows and have encouraged them to buy all your dvds and book. I can’t thank you enough for what you do. Your dvds should be mandatory for all new and old riders, you are saving lives.

  59. P Modesti - October 8th, 2014

I just wanted to say thank you. I have been looking at a street glide for a while but have not been in a large bike in a LONG time. Because of your tips I was able to ride (in a parking lot) with such ease! I practiced everything you showed- 8\’s, small circles, u-turns and stopping and turning. Your tips gave me the confidence to take the big bike out of the dealership lot! I will be purchasing a bike soon!
Keep up the great videos and tips! Thank you!

  60. John Karas - October 3rd, 2014

I purchased my first motorcycle ever (a Harley Iron 883n) on August 30. I signed up for riding classes at the local dealership. The classes were held Sept 23-25. Long story short, I bombed out the first day of riding. I was so nervous. I couldn’t keep the bike straight (a 500 Sportster), I couldn’t stop properly, I was so afraid of tipping over (I came close once). By the 4th exercise I was done. We were supposed to shift into 2nd gear. I told the instructor I could not handle 1st gear and I sure was not going to try to shift into 2nd and go faster. I do not know why I panicked or froze the way I did. I guess I just didn’t want to get hurt.
He suggested I at least come back and take the written part, then return at a later date and try the riding again. I passed their written test and passed the DMV written test, so I have my temp license. I’m schedule to take the riding portion again in Mid Oct.
Up to this point my bike has done nothing but serve as a 545 lb paperweight. I have not taken it out because I don’t want to drop it. It’s a 2014 model.
I came across your You Tube videos and was amazed at the riders you train. My copy of “Learn to Ride the Easy Way” arrived today. I fully expect to write you in a few short weeks to say I Passed the course and am enjoying my bike. I’m 67 years old and this is my “Bucket List” bike and I have every intention of enjoying it, with you excellent instruction. Stay tuned, I’ll be back!

  61. Ted Nicholl - September 30th, 2014

    Jerry and staff,

With the skills that I’ve learned, practiced and continue to sharpen, taught and demonstrated by you and your top notch crew, I just narrowly avoided being creamed by a minivan pulling out of a parking lot. If not for the skills that your instruction has taught me on covering the brake, dip and weave I would have hit that van head on! I thank you, my family thanks you and I’m so very grateful that I didn’t hesitate to purchase your Ride Like Pro DVD and practice , practice, practice!!!

I don’t think I can ever thank you enough and I want to say KEEP IT UP!!!

    Gratefully ,

Thirty years since on a MC! Wife wanted to get on the back of a bike again, and I wanted to get on the front!
We bought a used 1995 GW 1500. Beautiful bike, but I let it fall over twice at no speed, u-turn and r turn, crippling mine and my wife\’s confidence.
Your videos caused the light to go on…..I was using the front brake in low speed maneuvers, and tipping right over!
Thanks to you and your incredible videos, my confidence, and my wife\’s is back up to where I can handle low speed moves.
It was all so simple when I received the correct information, ie: Never Use The Rear Brake!, wrong. Proper time for all of the controls.
I am using the training in Ride Like A Pro as I type this. Riding is fun again. I have learned so much it is remarkable I survived my first GW, a new 1982 Interstate!!!!!
Thank you for all you do for the motorcycling public, and us!

    Donna & Jerry,

I want to thank you both for the excellent training. I think the course should be taken by every rider. Certainly at 70 years old it was not too late for me. I was very impressed with the information and the training given by both you and Jerry.
Thank you and I am sure you will see me back, with My wife, for a second time.

    Thank you again,

Just a comment … I just completed your course in Mountainside, NJ … again. I try to take the course once a year … this is my 4th time. Super course, super instructors (Al and Bill) and each time they are able to send me away with at least one more item to make me a better more confident rider. Super coaches and I will be back again to improve even more or at least maintain my current skills! I am an MSF RiderCoach for NY and NJ and this practice and coaching is invaluable. Thanks for the great course!

Jerry, after 30 years of self-taught, essentially trial and error motorcycle riding, in 2005 I sold my 695 pound Kawasaki Voyager XII after 10 years of ownership. Truth is, I never really felt like I could handle the big machine. I was always landing in one of those embarrassing situations that you poke good-natured fun at in your demonstrations – duck walking, asking my girlfriend to get off so I could get us out of a jam, etc.

Two Fridays ago, after 9 years off a bike, I took delivery of a brand new 895 pound Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700. And by weekend\’s end, I was secretly planning to put it on Craigslist, swallow my pride and sell it, and probably take a $1500 hit in the process. It took me just two days to conclude that the bike was too big and too heavy for me. I was never going to be able to control this monstrosity!

By some miracle, I came across your clip on YouTube of Victoria Pearce on the big Victory. I\’m 5\’9\” and 185 pounds. If this 4\’11\” teen could handle that Victory, then surely somehow I could learn to manage this Voyager. So I just kept watching your clips and I ordered your Ride Like A Pro video, which arrived today. I\’m definitely no pro – yet. I\’m still a little intimidated by the big bike. But your clips and video have given me the hope and confidence that my issues with this motorcycle have nothing to do with its weight or size, or mine.

My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Motorcycle Week in Laconia, NH this June. Thanks to your guidance and inspiration, I\’m confident that I\’ll be maneuvering this barge like it\’s a bicycle by then!

Thanks a million, Jerry. And special thanks to Victoria Pearce too!

I’m and Organizer of a Motorcycle Meet-Up in Maryland periodically I get several of my members out to a large parking area…set up the tennis balls and here we go. First I let them show me how they would normally ride their bike on any given course laid out. Well, you know what the outcome is… 🙁 Responses I can’t do it…it’s not possible. Then I go through the course and use the 3 (actually there is 4) techniques you teach..Head & Eyes, Friction Zone, Rear Brake and go through it with no problem. Then I get them to incorporate the “4” techniques and correct positioning of the bike. In most cases by their 3rd try they can do each course over and over again.
You probably see what I see….once their doing it…here come the smiles . Along with that is the confidence they just acquired. OH by the way, the 4th technique is “Can’t”…..Not allowed to say Can’t.
Thanks for all your work that you do and your crew of fantastic instructors making better safer motorcycle riders.

I just want to express my thanks to your organization for a wonderful training experience. JD’s passion and expert techniques in handling a large class are second to none. My girlfriend and I came away with our expectations and goals exceeded. JD and his friend Steve make a perfect training pair with their calm and confident instruction and demonstrations.

    Hi Jerry
Just a note to stick on your site about the fantastic day I had in January in NPR. Without doubt the best 4 hours I’ve spent on a bike in a long time. Who know riding at 15mph would be such fun ? And such hard work ! The skills really are useful – in the real world !
Highly recommend your class to anyone, and will get back to do another sometime!

I am a lifelong rider. My son, now married with children and in his late 30's, shares my passion and is also an avid rider. I have purchased your complete video package and am very impressed with the information and how your training is structured. My son and I have shared this and I believe it has made us both better riders and more aware of the risks in riding our bikes. Your techniques and awareness instruction could be lifesaving.
Thank you for sharing your experience and a great product!
  72. Ted Nicholl - November 19th, 2013

Jerry, I felt obligated to let you know that I have watched your YouTube videos countless times and ordered your Ride Like A Pro DVD and watched it a couple of times. I just had my first street bike delivered to me yesterday, a 2010 Suzuki Boulevard C50SE and took her for a short ride. Would you believe, in my neighborhood I encountered road construction that I was unaware of and as I approached it felt it prudent to turn around. Well, here goes….dip to the right, head and eyes, friction zone, rear controlling brake…Absolutely perfect with about 6′ to spare!!! Jerry, your instruction is absolutely awesome and I can’t wait to employ the rest of the tips and techniques you have taught me. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with me and so many others. I commend you and your team for the professionalism in your instruction and the positive reinforcement that your videos provide. I fully believe what you profess and that with only a few hours of practice I will be able to do these techniques with the utmost confidence and with more practice, be able to Ride Like a Pro!! Thank you!

    Hey Motorman and Donna,

Wanted to say thanks for the best teaching tools I’ve ever purchased.  I bought your Best Combo deal last month, been practicing and man, what a difference in my riding.  THANK YOU!  I can now make u-turns without a problem, I can take the curves with ease. Everything you say and demonstrate in your videos WORK.  Amazing.

  74. Chuck Dunnigan - August 4th, 2013

    Dear Motorman,

I wanted to thank you and Mrs. Palladino for putting out such a terrific product. I bought my first street bike last September.  This May, I graduated from the San Diego Police Department’s Motor Academy.  I am currently waiting for a transfer to the unit.

I can’t tell you how many people during the training, including the Commanding Officer,  said things like, ” I don’t know what you’ve been doing, but….”  or “smooth like butter”.  I was demonstrating exercises for other students in the first few days at the request of the trainers.  I don’t have to tell you how great that feels, especially when others were dumping their bikes.

I have told numerous other candidates to buy your DVD and PRACTICE!!  One did, and lo and behold, he passed with ease!!

Thanks for everything.  After watching RLAP dozens of times, I feel like we’ve already met.  ( My wife will not allow me to view it anymore in the house LOL).

Anyway, if you’re ever in San Diego and need anything, let me know.

Hi! I took your course with Sgt. Bill Hughes and Lt. Al Attanasio on May18th

(Ridelikeapronj.com). The techniques were clearly explained and demonstrated. I gained a lot of insight in

performing limited space maneuvers with my Gold Wing 1800. Bill & Al were very encouraging and have

motivated me to continue practicing to become proficient in the execution of the exercises. This was my second time

taking the course and I enjoyed so much that I hope to be able to do again next Spring.

  76. Fred Doughty - July 1st, 2013

    Good afternoon,

I’d just like to say that I took your RLAP course this past Saturday and am thoroughly pleased with the outcome. Our instructors (Al & Bill) where excellent. They were friendly, supportive, patient, and presented the class in a very understandable manner.

I came away with skills that I knew that I had been lacking but I didn’t quite know how to ‘fix’ me.

I can now do lock to lock U turns with confidence, and even dragged the foot pegs a couple of times.    Something I didn’t think that I could do on a HD Deuce.

Excellent course and worth every $. I highly recommend it to all my friends.

    Thank You,

    Fred :grin

  77. Bob Hicklin - June 27th, 2013

Thanks a lot for the great video and book. I have a big empty parking lot across the street from where I live, and have started practicing. Have done the first two exercises and having fun doing them. Working on the circle now, and doing it slow while keeping the bike upright for friction control. Trying it faster also to get the boards to drag, not there yet. I have already noticed a big improvement in my street riding.I had a tendency to look down while in turns. Took a 20mph, 270 degree turn while being the fourth bike in a line. Was looking in front of the lead rider and the bike just went around it. Felt a little weird at first, but kept at it. I am also turning tighter from stops at intersections. So with just a few actual practices and remembering to look where I want the bike to go, I’ve improved alot. Can’t wait to get more practice time in and get them boards to rubbing. By the way, I ride a Road King, so i know the bike can do it!

I have a friend who has watched your video, and practiced some of the exercises, but did not use any markers at all. He only used parking lot stripes. Had him come over for the Slow Cone Weave, and he had troubles doing it. Now he is coming to practice with me because he sees that he needs the challenge of having the course laid out to tighter dimensions. He rides a Fatboy, so he is already scraping boards. I told him he should be able to do it at slower speeds though.

Other friends are also joining me in becoming better riders. Thanks again for the great info and teachings. Will have to make a video when i get to rubbing.

  78. Roger Holt - June 25th, 2013

Thanks to Donna and Jerry for getting the DVD package to me. All there DVD’s are excellent. I have been practicing at least twice a week and my skills have improved every time out. Two days ago while doing a tight circle I pulled in the clutch. I did what Jerry said would happen and I layed the bike down. No injuries, no damage. The thing is I knew right away what I had done wrong. I was able to pick up the cruiser with no problem following Jerry’s instructions. Practice, practice, practice. Thanks again Jerry.

  79. J Sheriden - June 15th, 2013

I have your CD and practiced and practiced and now can ride like a pro My buddy in NC did your course as a new rider before he took his bike on the road. When he called me and told me he could do just under an 18 foot circle with his Harley Ultra I told him to keep practicing and to get that bike into a 14 foot circle. He called me back a couple of days later and said his foot board was dragging at 17-1/2 feet and he could not get the 14 foot. I laughed and told him it was impossible to ride a 14 foot circle on a full Harley Ultra bagger LOL He and I do ride like pros now so thanks a million

I’m not sure how I came across Jerry’s DVD but I’m sure glad I did! I was scheduled for the Civilian Top Gun Competition in a few weeks and Jerry’s DVD really taught me the basics of Motor Officer rider training! Without this DVD and the help from Toby and Lynn Phillips, there would not have been anyway I could have been competitive. ( Toby and Lynn I will talk about later ) . Using this video and practicing the three techniques Jerry teaches, I was able to capture 2nd! Only missing 1st by 1/10th of a second! I haven’t personally met Jerry but I have and ridden with Donna, his wife. What a wonderful person and great rider she is also! With Jerry’s need to share the Motor Officer knowledge with civilians, I and many others, have reaped the benefits of his, out of the box thinking! Thank you Jerry for your forethought that has saved many a life and changed mine forever!

  81. Kelly C - June 10th, 2013

Hi Jerry, Just wanted to tell you that five weeks ago I failed my M1 Exit test right after taking the weekend long safety course.  Anyway, I was quite discouraged but decided I am going to do this.  I bought a new Yamaha V-Star 250 and your new Ride Like a Pro dvd and book.  I have been practicing a lot.  Today was the big day and I passed with a “perfect” score!  I want to thank you for the awesome work you have put into your video.  I heard your voice in my head the whole time.  I told the whole class about your dvd.  Thanks again … I’m very happy right now.  Kind Regards, Kelly

Thank you for sharing your great teaching aids even if it 2 minutes long.I have learned so much just from those short videos.

keep them coming. Ride safe my freind. Thank you for all you do to keep us the bike riders safe.

  83. Walter Donovan - June 7th, 2013

I love reading the testimonies from your various students.  It is exactly my same experience with your DVDs.  You have really made a significant difference in the riding lives of these people.  You go, Jerry!!!  😉

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been riding…

If you haven’t practices the RLAP techniques you are truly missing out on an important aspect of riding.  I’m a woman of small stature, it’s imperative that I learn how to maneuver my bike at slow speeds.  I rode for a few years before learning the RLAP techniques through the DVD and lots of parking lot practice with my husband.  Now, I ride with much more confidence and NO MORE DUCKWALKING…  Being I’m only 5’1″, duckwalking is difficult in any case as my feel don’t connect well to the ground as it is…  RLAP… ROCKS…  Thanks!  8)

  86. Julie Rayburn - June 7th, 2013

After seeing several of the shows at various places, and meeting my Rumble Sister Donna, I had to buy the CD.  I have viewed it several times, and use the tips and techniques suggested and they work beautifully.  I have shared the knowledge with several other Rumble Sisters, and with my nephew who is just learning to ride, he is 15 1/2 and ready to get his permit to drive/ride.  Thank you Donna and Jerry!

  87. Tom Betress - June 6th, 2013

I had to write this: I feel a need to start with some basic information about myself. I had never ridden a motorcycle or really been on one before last year. For my 59th birthday my wife and son decided it was time I get over my fear of bikes (I have worked in hospitals most of my life) and learn to ride so my son would have someone to ride with, he is 21 years old and has been riding since he was 5 years old. Last year after work, on my birthday, when I got home there sitting in my garage was a VTX 1300R. I was skeptical also because I have degenerative joint disease in my lower back and thought I wouldn’t be able to handle it but . that was on a Wednesday and that Friday I had my permit and off we went. I took the free state offered course a couple weeks later and got the license. I just turned 60 this past April and decided to try “The New Ride Like Pro” bundled course and I have to say, even after taking the MSF course, I felt a lot more comfortable and confident after going through the materials. Using proper movement has also helped having less pain in my back. Within 2 or 3 days, I was riding on roads I used to avoid when possible. I was taking turns much better and even at better speeds with much more confidence than ever before. Using the rear brake was an amazing help with slow speed maneuvering, I can’t say enough. The looking where you want to go gets drilled in to your head with this course and even though I thought I always did that, I find I am looking where I want to go more frequently without even paying attention to doing it. The distances to look (going around corners, starting from a stop, on straight a ways, etc.) has also raised my confidence. No more “Oh @#$% “there is a curve or turn coming up (especially to my right). I felt I was doing good before but now I know I’m doing great and plan to improve upon that. The book is put together very well and the in depth coverage is nothing short of phenomenal. Not only are there step-by-step instructions on how to perform each exercise, but you are also given an explanation of why and how each task works in very simple and understandable language. You know exactly what / why / and how you must do things on your bike for it to perform and handle as it should and to its fullest. Though I have a Doctorate in Psychology and currently working as a Network Engineer for a large health system, I have also been a senior adjunct faculty member at a local college for over 26 years and I have to say Jerry has something that most instructors I have come across don’t have, he has and uses his ability to convey information in a ‘very’ understandable way for everyone to be able to utilize the course and he is also so enthusiastic about the subject and bikes that there is no way any student cannot be as enthused and driven to get out there and ‘perform’. This should be a mandatory course for anyone wanting to ride a motorcycle. Thanks, Tom Betress

  88. Jeff - June 3rd, 2013

    Hello to anyone reading this,

About 5 years ago I got the RLAP DVD and practiced and learned the techniques.  They provided me the ability to really learn how to ride safely and in control and they made riding just a whole lot more fun by being significantly more in control.  (not to mention it is just fun to be able to handle my bike “that way”.)

More important, this past weekend I rode my first passenger.  The RLAP techniques really helped and made riding a passenger a “piece of cake”.  I shouldn’t have been, but I was REALLY surprised how easy the slower speed maneuvers (i.e., starting, stopping, slow turns, etc.) were with a passenger on as a result of using the techniques.

To make a long story short, the ride went well and I had a couple situations where I needed to do some u-turns — they just happened naturally, without any real effort or thought.  I know it was because of the things I learned through the RLAP program.

So, if you are contemplating getting RLAP, do it — next to deciding to ride it will be the best decision you’ll ever make related to riding.

  89. J.C. - May 29th, 2013

    Dear Jerry,

A few years ago, I purchased your Ride Like A Pro V video with the hopes of sharpening what little skills I had developed/remembered in the standard MSF courses.  I had been riding motorcycles since 1985.  After watching your instructional video multiple times along with much practice in the parking lot, I knew that my riding skills and rider confidence had improved dramatically. What a difference! I would like to preface the remainder of this email by saying that I am a state police officer in one of the mid atlantic states.  While on the job, I have always had an interest in becoming a motor officer with our department.  Our department’s motor officer school is known as being one of the most challenging schools in the country.  Recently, our department posted tryouts for the motor unit, so I took the plunge and signed up to participate.  A total of 13 officers tried out for the testing, but at the end, only myself, and one other officer passed the difficult cone courses.  Two weeks later, I was selected to attend our department’s 80 Hour Basic Motor Officer School.  I am pleased to report that both myself, and the other officer are now recent graduates of the course. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for doing an excellent job at creating a well structured easy to learn instructional video.  I am certain that without this added knowledge beforehand, I probably would not have passed the tryouts phase, nor the school itself.  I am currently awaiting transfer and look forward to getting paid to ride for many years to come.  I would (and have) highly recommend your videos to any officer with the same aspirations.  Thanks again Jerry!

  91. Tim O'Hanlon - May 22nd, 2013

Hi Jerry,  i wanted to thank you for having ride like a pro in mountainside, NJ.  I took the class last Sunday May 19,2013.  I was a little nervous at first but,  your two professionals instructors Al and Bill made me feel at ease.  They took there time in explaining and showing us how to ride like a pro. I learned a lot about handling my bike. I loved the your class because, it`s all day out on your bike riding and learning. Now i`m at home practicing what i learned from Al and Bill. Then i want to go back and retake the class and show them what a great job they did!!!!!

                                Thanks again,

The class was GREAT. Very informative, instructors very helpful. Instructors made students feel comfortable. It was easy when I did it the I was instructed to do. The students that were struggling were treated with respect and understanding. Outstanding class, Thank You Jerry, Donna, Joe. You obviously enjoy your students.

  93. Dale P. - April 2nd, 2013

Wednesday, March 13,2013, I went to South Daytona and watched Jerry “Motorman” Palladino, founder of Ride Like a Pro. As one who rides approximately 45,000 miles per year, I was very impressed with his presentation and I recommend his training program for all bikers. His demo expounded on several principles of riding, many that I practice every day that I ride, however, I must admit that I did learn a few more techniques. The demo refreshed my memory, and will make me a better biker. If you are a biker, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIS COURSE, and also obtaining his DVD’s. For me, it was an honor meeting Jerry and his staff.

  94. Jim J - March 30th, 2013

Thanks to Ride Like a Pro and practicing your video exercises !  You saved my life or at least my bike.  Between panic stop and avoidance I sucessfully drove through a herd of deer last night.  So close i could touch then but i missed them all.  Thanks for the BEST training there is.

  95. Patrick Thrasher - March 28th, 2013

Hey ” motorman ” people, I received my video a couple of days ago and wanted to say a huge thanks to all of your staff for such great service.

I am planning a trip to Deals gap and this video will help me prepare for the ride.

    Thanks again

A couple days ago I received my order and even if I’m a motorcycle driving instructor and a retired motor officer I found it very interresting. Thank you Jerry and hope to meet you in next february in Florida.

  97. Phil G. - March 8th, 2013

I wanted to send a note of thanks to your gal Donna that works in the office. She was very helpful to me today when I called to place my order. Not only was she professional, she is a rider as well and was able to answer all my dumb questions! Thank you for your exceptional customer service and excellent products!

  98. Bob Smith - March 6th, 2013

I received the bundle of ride like a pro Monday. I have not stopped watching the DVD. I keep watching it over and over.

I’am 56 years old and have rode off and on for most of my life. You opened my eyes to a world that I had no idea what I was doing. Thank you so much.

I just bought my wife a SOFTAIL SLIM this is her first bike we pick it up Friday. I will be getting my bike a Fatboy Lo some time in the next couple of month.

I just went and bought a bag of tennis ball and cut them in half. Starting Monday I will be at the parking lot working on my 3 techniques Monday morning. I am so stoked to get started.

I got in my truck and drove to the store yesterday afternoon and I was turning at a red light looking past the turn and down the road as I was turning. I’ve got practice practice on the mind!!!

Thank you so much for what you do.

love the videos I received last summer, wish I could attend  bike week, wish I could actually take my wonderful profession skills I have attained from using and practicing your methods to teach others. Thank you sir, for what you have helped me achieve and you spread to other riders in the country, their enjoyment of riding and the their safety will serve them well.

  100. Jim C - February 25th, 2013

Thank you for all of the time and work you have invested in your DVDs and your articles on the Internet.  They are an invaluable aid to any serious motorcyclist.

Thanks also for the innovation of the Pro-Guards Engine Guard Protective Covers and the great price and handling.  I ordered them around noon on a Wednesday and they were at my house on Saturday.  When reading the description I had trouble visualizing how the needed item would be “easy” to put on and take off.  They are incredibly easy on/off and effective.  I can increase my speed around the cones now without worrying about “adding” to my previous “practice scores” on my engine guards.

Thank you again.  I wish you continued success and many happy, safe miles.

    Mr Palladino

I am a 62-year old retired U.S. Army veteran who has been riding motorcycles since January 1966 (Suzuki 80, BSA, Norton Commando, and H-Ds. Not until I ordered and studied your videos ( Ride Like A Pro / On the Dragon ) did I realize how much more I learned, SAFE riding-wise. IN short, you were the one who taught me the importance of LEADING into the turns with my head and eyes. You also taught me how to pick up AC”dropped” bike. You also taught me how to properly make a U-turn.

Old dogs can learn new “tricks” when life and limb and riding enjoyment equate to all I picked up from you.  THANK YOU, SIR.

  102. Dr. Neer - December 14th, 2012

Jerry I have had your premium DVD collection for several weeks now and have watched them numerous times. I passed my MSF course so as soon as the weather gets nice I will begin my practice. Cold in Oklahoma right now. Thanks for all of your help.

  103. Kevin Wood - November 24th, 2012

    Dear Mr Palladino

Thank you for the prompt service. I received my Combo pack today, only one week on from my ordering date!

I fit into the category of bikers returning to the scene after many years away. I returned five years ago but immediately realised that I needed training, and have attended at least one day of ‘advanced/further’ training each year since. I’ve already watched your Deals Gap and Mean Streets DVDs today and I’m looking forward to using your training/riding tips during the coming months.

    Yours faithfully

    Kevin Wood

  104. Nelson G. - October 16th, 2012

    Dear Mr. Palladino,

I’m a new rider, just out of the gate (completed and successfully passed the BRC in early July 2012 and have my motor endorsement) and I was on the internet searching for videos on how to become more proficient in riding my 2006 Honda Shadow Spirit that I just took delivery of this past month.

I came across your video course and was very impressed with the manner in which you take what appear to be excessively challenging maneuvers and simplify them making them seem ever so doable.

I was looking for techniques to build my confidence to ride my motor and I have found it with your videos.  I just received you combo series and I have only gotten through ¾ of ride like a pro and I find it to be an impressive piece of work.

I am scheduled for some private lessons during which I will be asking instructor if we can practice some of your exercises and techniques.

Thank you for creating such a magnificent product that not only teaches indispensable techniques, but ultimately will keep us safe on the roads.

I will keep you informed as to my progress.

    Regards, Nelson.

  105. Dan Russell - October 14th, 2012

Jerry, I recently had a chance to join a group of gents on a cross Colorado ride into Utah. They have affectionately named the Colorado 1000. This ride was completed on Dual Sport bikes. We spent about 1/3 of this trip in dirt, crossing 12000 ft. passes in the Colorado mountains. What an excellent scenic ride. 90% of my riding has been on pavement, so this was quite the challenge for me. Not to mention I was on a borrowed Buell Ulysses. Between the new terrain(which at some times was either straight up or down/ hair pin turns/ or challenging to my fear of heights) the unfamiliar machine or the completely new roads. I had your voice from Ride Like a Pro in my head. Friction zone, throttle control, and look where you want the bike to go!!!!! I’m not joking when I say that it may be the sole reason I’m still alive. It was extremely calming to have watched, practiced, and now utilized the lessons to the full intended purpose. Lastly, I just read your October article in Motorcycle Bagger, about half-truths. Excellent article! Thank You for championing safe effective riding skills!

    Dan Russell

    Willington, Ct.

P.S. where can I find your new book?

  106. Dale M - September 17th, 2012

Just a quick note to say thanks!  Like many I had to ride out of my way as I was not confident making a U turn.

Yesterday, traffic was very backed up here and really needed to make a U turn.  I did it!  Small thing, but I really appreciated your DVDs and the skills.

Later that day I was witness to a minor crash where the rider and a minivan side swiped each other.  The rider was not badly hurt and the bike was down.  CHP asked us to move the bike if possible.

There were several riders there and none knew how to right the bike.  I again followed the DVD skills and set the bike upright easily.

  107. B. Dennis - September 14th, 2012

Man I LOVE my Ride Like A Pro DVD and book!!! I do stuff on a sports bike that others can’t do on a more maneuverable bike, because of the practice and instruction from those items. I figured (even though your focus is on cruisers) that this Dragon DVD would be right on the money as well. Heck, if you can make a cruiser hang those curves, your information should certainly help me on my bike.

    Keep up the good work!!

  108. jeff - September 13th, 2012

Thanks for putting together such a great program and a terrific set of DVDs to help all of us ride safer and better.

I got RLAP and instantly started practicing the different exercises — like you say in the DVDs in just a few hours I was more confident and definitely in more control of my bike.  I pretty much “instantly” felt safer out on the road.

The other DVDs (Mean Streets and Dragon) are equally good, pointing bringing the things we practice in the parking lots to reality.

To anyone reading this, I would highly recommend the RLAP series of DVDS — there’s not a better way to become and safer and more proficient rider.  I am a firm believer in “practice” and I know learning the techniques has made me a safer rider, I enjoy riding even more, and I know that the skills I’ve developed through RLAP have helped “save my bacon” a time or two out on the streets.

Besides, it is fun to “do” the different exercises — to this day I still go out once a week or so and practice in the parking lots (okay, I’ll admit it though, I don’t usually set the cones up anymore).

PS — not to mention, it is just a ball to make nice smooth u-turns in just a little space when everyone else is busy “duck walking” their bikes around in a circle  🙂

  109. Billy Mac - September 10th, 2012

Hey Jerry, I hope this message finds you well. I just want to thank you for your video RLAP. I’ve had two, 4 and 5. A friend got one, my brother-in-law got the other one. I finally scraped a full circle with my foot boards on my “06” Road King FLHPI this week. I was happier than a two peckered puppy. Going to the right is a little harder for me. Just means I have to practice that side more. I would love to try the motor officer course. I really get off watching Police bike rodeos, those guys are great. I will be happy to recommend your video to any one who wants to be a better rider.

  110. Philip Kierce - August 23rd, 2012

I received the New RLAP DVD in the post on Tuesday. Thank you for that, and thank you very much also for the Bandana. Really nice surprise !!!

The DVD itself is the best. It’s a wonderful tool to help me to eventually perfect my riding skills.

  111. Jeannette V. - August 21st, 2012

Wow what can I say but thank you, thank you, thank you.

After riding on the back of my hubby`s bike for almost 30yrs I decided to get my own. I was so intimidated by the whole process and scared. Once I got your DVD`s I practiced 3x`s a week or so for a month, setting up the exercises etc. Leaning was really scary but when I watched the video`s and saw over and over how easy the control was I new I could do it too. When doing the slow cone exercise I asked my husband if I was leaning enough and he said he almost got out of the car because he thought I was going to drop the bike. The exciting part of that is I never felt as though I was out of control or that I was going to drop the bike. By the time I got my license (just two weeks ago) I felt so comfortable and in control of my bike. I have a Suzuki S50 Boulevard 800 2006. I love riding and knowing I have control makes  me feel safer. Thanks again for your awesome material. YOU ROCK!!

  112. Ted - August 8th, 2012

Thanks Motorman. I have 3 of your DVDs and must say they have helped me a lot.. I feel I’m a better rider now as I watch others making the same mistakes that I was making before the DVDs I am quick to suggest your ride like a pro series and testify about what I have learned. Practice everyday and even have had the chance to skill ride with the local law enforcement riders on their training days. What a treat. Keep the newsletters and lessons coming. A huge fan. Ted

  113. Kenny B - July 26th, 2012

    Hi Jerry,

I’ve been riding motorcycles for 28 years and a couple of years back my buddy bought one of my bikes and wanted me to teach him.  I decided then and there that I’m not only not qualified, but I’m a terrible teacher and so I recommended him taking our local CHP safety course at Cabrillo College in the Santa Cruz area.  I also decided to take it along with him and although it wasn’t the most thrilling thing I’ve ever done, I did learn a couple of things.  I then bought him “Ride Like A Pro The Book” but never got to read it myself.

Recently I purchased a HD Ultra Classic and decided I’d like to advance my skill set as it’s a heavy bike and I’ll be riding two-up mostly.  I must say I really like your approach and of course methods, I can’t wait to practice on the big bagger because I want to do it right.  I love how you take that little gal who’s just 4’11 and help her up on the big Victory and she just flat out nails it.

I’m now 44 years old so I like to think I deserve this big touring bike as my lady and I plan on hitting the long highway trips through the southwest; and thanks to you and your instruction; I now have the tools to practice and become the best rider I can be.

Even crummy riders have made the mistake of doing something right, and when that happens you just feel it.  Only problem is, “what the heck made that feel so right?” one might think.  All the years I’ve been riding, there are simple things like making a hard right at an intersection where you’re looking towards your destination that causes the perfect lean and you glide right through tightly and safely.  It’s all about the head and eyes and you FEEL IT.

Thanks again brother, I know you get a lot of praise but its well deserved so enjoy it!

    Take care of yourself.

    Kenny B.

  114. Jack and Bev Gustafson - July 19th, 2012

    Hi Jerry and Donna,

First, Bev and I want to thank you for the great summer riding tips you emailed us prior to our trip from St. Cloud, MN to Greensboro, NC.  Especially the recommendation to buy some mesh jackets from motorcyclegear.com. (They were on sale, too!)  As long as we stayed hydrated the jackets acted like little “swamp coolers” in the triple digit, record-setting heat we rode through.  We won’t ride in the summer without them anymore–our other jackets would’ve parboiled the both of us!

Bev said to be sure to thank to you Donna for inspiring her to buy some half-chaps for this trip.  She stayed much cooler than if she had worn her leathers, and yet she had some good leg protection at the same time.

The RLAP skills we’ve been practicing in our local abandoned parking lots, and on the roads closer to home, really paid off BIG TIME on this trip–especially riding a big honking bike like our Victory Vision two-up and fully loaded! (The BIKE, not the riders!)   ;-0)

Also, thanks to watching (and studying) your video on riding “The Dragon,” we were inspired to ride it for ourselves on this trip and put some of our RLAP skills to the test.  Wow, what fun!  Scratch that one off the Riding “Bucket List”!  ‘Got any more great rides to recommend?  We were thinking of the “Pig’s Trail” in Arkansas.

Thank you both for all that you do to promote safe motorcycling,

    Jack & Bev Gustafson

  115. Rich Wagner - July 9th, 2012

    Hi Jerry and Donna,

Thanks for your Ride Like a Pro videos, you have saved my life a few times out on the road. I hear your voice in my head and when I need to react to a situation, I do. No more panic stops, I actually learned from you how to brake and swerve and ride with skill. Keep up the good work, millions of riders need your help.

  116. Loren H - June 12th, 2012

I happened across your RLAP5 in my local library, and grabbed it to see if there was something I didn’t know.

I was impressed as hell at your instructions, views and tips.  Never, ever had I heard about the friction zone and rear brake holding the bike up like that.

The next weekend I was at a local Harley dealer for a party and demo.  I took out a Ultra, with a group, and freaked some of them out when  we approached a stop sign, and I never put my feet down, not even for the stop.

I’ve proceeded to tell all my riding friends and fanily to check this out.

I’ll be moving to central Florida in a few months, so maybe I’ll run across you (without the lights and siren!)

  117. Albert Cherry - May 24th, 2012

    Hello Donna and Jerry,

Albert here in Ireland. I received the DVD earlier this week and would like to extend many thanks.

I feel I must pay both of you a massive compliment on your latest DVD.

It gives me great pleasure in saying that I have learnt so much from your DVDs in the past.

The latest one is especially interesting and informative.

Jerry, you have gone to into extreme depth on details on these exercises. It is a credit to you.

I have spent a large amount of money on bike training in the past, however, your Ride Like A Pro DVDs have taught me more than a personal instructor ever has.

I ride a BMW K1200 LT Tour Bike and at first I thought this bike would be too large and difficult to handle. Thanks to you, Jerry, I have overcome my nerves and gained confidence.

I will be recommending Ride Like A Pro to all bikers I meet!

    Thanking you once again,

    Best Wishes,

    Albert Cherry.

  118. Joe Babich - May 10th, 2012

I have owned your ride like a pro videos since the first one came out and can honestly say that you probably saved my life. I have been riding since 1974 and until I watched your videos, I was a “duck walker” and did not understand the technique of riding a “downhill, reduced radius, right hand corner”, now I fear not for I apply what you teach to all my transitions in all aspects of riding (you personally emailed me and discussed my problem with the corner above after I had rode to Lake Tahoe, CA and experience that turn riding two-up on a Honda Valkyrie).

Also, while my wife and I were riding in Lakeport, CA, 4 horses jumped out on Hwy 29, in Lakeport, CA, when we were on our Honda Valkyrie. At 75 mph (don’t tell LPPD that I was speeding), I just thought “front brake, front brake, FRONT BRAKE” and then used the 3 techniques to slow, look, lean, use the friction zone, the rear brake (I was under 20 mph) and steer around those horses (my wife was jammed up into my back at the time because we were slowing so rapidly). It worked and we are now in Nevada where the wild horses are plentiful so I am ordering more videos to keep my mind sharp and my skills up to par! Joe Babich

  121. Sean - April 30th, 2012

Having just taken your class yesterday, I wanted to let you know how well your team in NJ is doing.  First, a little about myself.  Even though I was probably the least experienced rider of our group, I believed that I was pretty good.  I thought I was bringing a pretty good skill set to the class.  Boy, was I wrong!  Even though I had watched your video several times, and knew what I had in store for myself, I was really unprepared for these exercises.  These 2 guys are truly ‘miracle workers’!  I can sum up Al and Bill in two words….”patience, and enthusiasm”.  For the majority of the exercises, we were split in 2 groups, so Al was my instructor for most of the exercises.  If it weren’t for his positive attitude, kind assessments, and praise, the frustration would have gotten to me.  My biggest problem?  My own high expectations.  Needless to say, your exercises are a rather humbling experience.  However, Al was the one who kept me going with his big smile and kind words, “Everyone is different, it’ll come, hang in there!”.  And finally, “See!  You can do it, you got it”!  Having watched your video several times, and seeing that ‘tiny little girl’ you have featured on it, I kept saying to myself, “If she can do it, so can I.”  So, after the ‘+ sign u-turns’ exercise near the end of our class, when Bill gave me his big smile, and said, “Smooth”, I knew that I had come full circle.

In closing, there were quite a few of us that were ‘big boys’ and could have picked up a ‘full dresser’, and put it on a trailer without ramps. However, as you say in your video, “physical size has nothing to do with the technique, when it comes to slow riding”.  We also had guys that have been riding for years, who were well into their 50s, and showed they too had a lot to learn.  What did I leave with at the end of Bill and Al’s class?  I left with a much better set of skills, and a sense of practice, practice, practice!  If Bill and Al are the standard for your program, anyone who rides should take advantage of ‘ride like a pro’ in their area.  The nominal fee is well worth it!  I will certainly recommend it to everyone I know, and I definitely intend to return to brush up on my skills in the future!  To Bill and Al….thank you, thank you, thank you, and stay safe!  Sincerely, Sean (Park Ridge, NJ)

  122. Sheldon Brushett - April 29th, 2012

Thank you for the terrific information and the great lessons. I bought my bike last week and have been practicing your techniques. My comfort level has been rising every day out. Looking forward to receiving my videos.

  123. Jim Raynovic - April 27th, 2012

This is the best bike riding information I have seen since the early 1970’s when I learned to ride with the Phoenix Police Department. Excelent demos and new information. I have renewed lost skills and can share with my riding friends.

    Thank You

  124. Deb and Sean O'Leary - March 31st, 2012

Thanks to you, we stay safe!  Whether it’s me who learned 4 yrs ago or my hubby who has been riding for 42 yrs….We review your DVD’s before each season as a refresher.  We recommend them to everyone and even tweet a link to your site from @YouRideSocks.  Everyone should really consider the safety of viewing these DVD’s no matter how many years you’ve ridden.  Thank you for your insight.

  125. Bob - March 24th, 2012

Your DVD has been the best $30 accessory I’ve purchased for my Road King! Thanks very much and I wish you tremendous success.

P.S. I first saw your 2010 Boswell video on You Tube and decided then to buy the DVD.

    Bob D/ Nashville

  126. John - March 24th, 2012

    Hi Jerry,

At 51 years old, I’m a new motorcycle owner.  One of the decisions I had to make buying a first bike was, “What size bike should I get?”  Go small and trade up later, or go big now?  There’s the money issue and time spent buying-selling-buying hassle with going small and trading up, then there’s the intimidation factor of going big.  The first thing I bought was your RLAP DVD.

Just watching your training reduced the intimidation factor and helped me decide that going big now was doable.  So, my first bike is a beautiful 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Nomad Fi.  I put-putted around my neighborhood until I was safe enough to get me and my bike to a local church parking lot, armed with a 100′ tape, chalk, a couple dozen cut up tennis balls and several cones.

I spent a couple hours there doing the slow walk and slow cone weave and by the time my girlfriend (who’s been riding for 7 years) arrived on her ’08 Softail Deluxe, I was doing half-way decent circles in both directions within 24 feet.  (I dropped my bike three times, which was no big deal as I covered the front and back engine and saddlebag guards with heavy-duty washing machine hose that I split and zip tied on.)  She was pretty impressed and began practicing with me.  We both had a lot of fun and she wants to continue practicing so we can progress together.

Experienced riders seeing me handle my bike have said that they never would have guessed that I’m a new rider.

Your training video helped build enough confidence (and skill and technique) in me that I’ve ridden almost 300 miles in less two weeks since buying my very first bike–and a 1500, at that!  My MSF class begins in less than three weeks (the classes fill up pretty fast here in Ohio) and I’ll be well-prepared when I arrive.  I just ordered the RLAP companion book and the Mean Streets DVD and look forward to more of your quality training.

Thanks for providing such an excellent product to help me get started doing it the right way.

  127. Cliff - March 22nd, 2012

Really good stuff. We can never practise enough and this is one great tool.

    Keep up the good work.

  128. Neil McKenzie - March 21st, 2012

I am honoured to have been the first in Australia to have ever dealt with RLAP. I have in addition to the new dvd the previous 2 editions, the book, audio exercises, RLAP on the Dragon, Survive the Mean Streets. I have had many dealings with Donna and Jerry over the years and there is no better team on the planet. Every edition of the dvd covers the 3 basic rules but every edition also contains different items so don’t think that there is no need to get the new dvd. You will not find any better instructional aid to assist you with improving your riding than the RLAP dvd. It wlll make you a better and safer rider. My best wishes and thanks to Jerry and Donna in Hudson, Tim and Marianne in Miami and the rest of the RLAP team across the US. RLAP ROCKS!

  129. Joan I - March 10th, 2012

I have to admit that I was a little bit hesitant to order the new RLAP DVD as I was concerned that it would just be a duplicate of the others that I have – RLAP V & Learn to Ride the Easy Way. (The ‘Learn to Ride…’ DVD is geared toward really new riders and I highly reccomend it if you are just starting out or have never ridden a motorcycle before.) With that being said, I am happy to say that my concerns about the new RLAP being a duplicate were all for nothing! I absolutely love this new DVD! Yes, the exercises that you go through are similar to RLAP V, but the way they are presented are SO much better. You get shown a diagram of the exercise by “Motorman” plus you get excellent instructions as they demonstrate on their bikes each of the exercises. There are also ‘extras’ on the new DVD that are not on the RLAP V version. I also love Victoria! At 4’11” she just amazed me while whipping the big bikes around – especially the GoldWing! I could go on and on about this fantastic DVD, but you will just have to buy one and see how great it is!

  130. Jack and Bev - March 5th, 2012

    Good Afternoon Donna & Jerry,

Man, you guys have fast service–I ordered last Thursday, and I received the DVD on Monday!

We really like what you’ve done with the new DVD, especially the helmet cams, the way you lined up all the bikes to show the path a rider is supposed to take through the exercise, using a variety of bikes and riders of all sizes, and the added tips and tricks.  WOW!  Its like you took our “wish list” and brought it to life!  Excellent job–for the concept, the way it was filmed, and to all the riders.  You’ve got us all revved up to get our bike out!  (Now if we could just melt this foot of snow . . .).

We also want to thank you for your generosity.  The bandanas are really cool, and we’ll make good use of them.

What a great day we’re having thanks to you!

Looking forward to your next release!

    Jack & Bev

  131. Larry - March 3rd, 2012

Your videos have helped me become a better rider especially the u-turns.  I really appreciate the instruction After over 40 years of riding I had a few bad habit to get rid of and some great new ones to add.

  132. Mac Haskins - February 27th, 2012

Your videos are  the best Jerry, I have now been using them for two years, and take them out and practice at the beginning of the seaon, and a different exercise every month or so. My G/F says that I am the best/safest biker she has ever known. Thanks, Mac

  133. Chris - February 1st, 2012

Had never ridden before taking the MSF course. Took a tumble during the course (not testing) but eventually passed. Bought a “baby” Harley (Sportster 883) and took a good tumble. Was a bit intimidated about getting back on the bike until I discovered your Ride Like a Pro series on You Tube. Worked on the slow skills in the driveway; moved out on to our cul-du-sac and am now out on the road. Feeling much more confident and comfortable on my bike. Want to pass along a big THANK YOU for your help!

    Cheers for now,

  134. John Greene - February 1st, 2012

    Hi Motorman,

Thanks for the super fast shipping on my order! I got your best combo deal, excellent, excellent information. Your information is the missing link in what I’ve been trying to find on how to become a better rider. I’m bringing a couple friends down to Daytona to see your shows, thanks again.

  135. mark manley - January 24th, 2012

    Mr. Palladino,

I went through the course run by Ray,Priscilla and Ken Jan.22’12 I had a blast! The instruction was first rate, the course was challenging and I thought they were some super folks. I really cannot say enough, but I wanted you to know that you couldn’t have better people, instruction, and franchise than what you have in Pensacola. Well worth the money and 3 hour drive. JOB WELL DONE! DONE!   :grin

  136. Wilburn - December 31st, 2011

Your books and videos have changed the way I ride and think about motorcycles….oh in a very good way! Thanks for sharing your expertise with the rest of us. Forgot to mention I’ve been riding about 40 years. Ride safe..Wilburn

  137. Gareth - November 21st, 2011

thank you for your instructional dvds i have

learned a tremendous amount in low speed

motor handling from both of them i have become

more confident in every aspect and i am still

learning through continual practice it always

makes me smile inside when the trainee riders

over here see me execute a u-turn on our roads

    which are narrower than most.

i have recomended your products to all my other

biking friends so they can learn as well.

keep up the good work and again many many thanks.

  138. J. McClure - November 12th, 2011

I always enjoy reading Jerry’s riding tips.  The last one about smooth stops:  I found it helpful that  making sure the  front wheel is straight while braking also helps.

I am an ex “Motorman” with the Detroit Police Department (Many, many years ago) and always find Jerry’s articles very informative even at my age of 74.  I hung up my helmet for the last time this October.  Already I miss my bike.

  139. David - November 7th, 2011

    Jerry and Donna,

I passed!!!  100% on the written test and a few points for emergency braking distance.  I was trying to follow the “slow is smooth–smooth is fast” strategy during the practical test which unfortunately added a few feet to the stop.  The friction zone-head and eyes-back brake techniques I learned from the video helped immensely on all of the slow-speed maneuvering.  It was very evident to see among the new riders who had done some prior “homework” and who didn’t.  I was very happy to answer…….RLAP V!…..when asked, by the instructors even, what I had used to prepare the for class.   I’m looking forward to continuing the training and building proficiency in this new endeavor.  My wife will be next in the saddle!!!

    Thanks again!

  140. Jack Gustafson - November 2nd, 2011

    Dear Donna & Jerry,

‘Just wanted to give you an update on how well your DVD’s have been working.

Up until two days ago the largest bike my wife had ever ridden was a Triumph Bonneville (865cc).  And when we recently bought our new Triumph Thunderbird SE (1600cc) she thought she’d only be a passenger on it because she was intimidated by the size and weight of the bike (comparable to a Harley like you both ride).  After watching the DVD’s with me a number of times and seeing what kind of improvement they have made in both my solo and our two-up riding she decided to give it a try, so off to an abandoned WalMart parking lot we went armed with our bisected tennis balls.  WOW!  Within minutes she rode that bike like she has been doing so for YEARS!  On behalf of both of us, thank you so much for helping Bev overcome her fear of such a large bike.  She and I will now be going to  our WalMart “practice range” for RLAP practice together from now on!

    God Bless You Both,

    Jack & Bev Gustafson

  141. David Elias - October 28th, 2011

    Motorman and RLAP Team,

I received (and watched) the RLAP V video yesterday!  Much thanks for the expertise and mentorship you provide to new riders.  This tutorial will surely pay dividends during the Basic Rider Course I just siged up to take next week.

I can’t thank you guys enough for the training and encouragement given going through the class yesterday.  You have absolutely changed the way I ride for the better and certainly safer future. On top of everything it was also a lot of fun and I really enjoyed meeting you guys. Jerry, I never expected you to be so generous. Donna, you’re fantastic. I’ll be spending hours in the local Publix or high schoool lot practicing what you taught me yesterday. I am going to try and put together a group of riding friends and come back to see you again in Hudson.

    Thanks So Much!

  143. Jack Gustafson - October 18th, 2011

    Dear Mr. Palladino,

I just want to thank you for sharing your knowledge, training, and techniques with me.  I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was 15 and I’m about to turn 63.  Until this summer, when I purchased your Combo Deal, I thought I knew a thing or two about riding.  I was greatly humbled by your DVD’s.  I’ve been practicing your techniques ever since, and they have really paid off–especially the slow riding techniques.

I’ve been telling all my biker friends (and a lot of bikers I’ve met at rallies) about your techniques and DVD’s.  I hope all my gab didn’t go to waste and that they’ve all invested in your products!

My wife and I will continue to practice these “perishable skills” for the rest of our lives.

    Thank you so much,

    Jack & Bev Gustafson

  144. Rachel White - October 2nd, 2011

I bought your best combo deal for my hubby and he says it was the best gift he has ever received. He’s out there practicing every day. His skills and confidence have improved 100%. Thank you, you’re doing great things for motorcyclists.

  145. Judy Miller - September 13th, 2011

I purchased some of the videos for my husband after finding out he was watching the clips on the internet. They have helped him learn to handle his bike so much better.  And now the bike ministry at our church is interested in using the videos as training tools. I have ordered another copy of Surviving the Mean Streets 2 because it has so much of what we need on it.   Thank you so much for being there.

  146. Jeff Stone - September 12th, 2011

I bought the Ride Like a Pro V about a year ago. I love the DVD and have watched it many times. I also have been practicing with a friend in parking lots. We carry tennis balls cut in half everywhere.

Our floor boards have been replaced after wearing them down and then turning them around the other direction. Our riding skills are soooo much better.

After checking out your web site I found the guys in NJ who offer your course (Al and Bill).

I signed up for the course and my friend, brother, nephew and son attended with me on 9/11/11.

Not only was it a great day, but we all learned a lot. The instructors helped me get to the next level and my practice sessions will be much more meaningful in the future.

Both Bill and Al are excellent instructors. they were both encouraging and pointed out mistakes with easy to understand instruction.

My son, brother and nephew improved their skills 100% in just 4 hours and are eager to continue to practice.

I give the NJ crew the highest marks. There are a few more exercizes I would like to see in the future that were on the DVD, such as the turn from a stop and braking from faster speed.

I will be back next season for sure!!!!

  147. Donald - September 5th, 2011

I want to thank you and your team for providing me and the public this excellent training video. I have a good driving record because of my

CDL. I have been riding since 18 and now 59. I have 4 motorcycles. I enjoy the H/D here in the city, loud pipes and fun. I use my 02 BMWLT for highway trips. After viewing this video I feel like a newbee again to improve my skills. Your company is the best. I heard about your CD a year ago.  I purchase this from E-Bay from you. I can’t say enough but thank you a million. Donald,  North Las Vegas, NV.

I need to find out when you all are coming here for the contest event.

  148. Rita Smythe - August 25th, 2011

I was so happy I got to see you and your team perform in Helen Georgia last weekend. Watching your wife and Maryanne riding just like you really inspired me to ride just like them too. I bought your videos.  Thanks for a great show. I am practicing and can already see a big difference in my skill level.

  149. Bill Graves - August 22nd, 2011

Just wanted to say how happy I am with your combo deal. I read the book first, then watched RLP DVD, then STMS2. All 3 are excellant. I am new to street riding and was/am still intimidated by my big Yamaha Road Star 1700 Silverado. However, after just one solo practice session, my confidence is dramatically improved and I look forward to learning more and getting better. With practice, of course 🙂  I do plan to add a friend and cones to help me in my training. All my friends are like you were, 1 year of riding and 20+ years of making the same mistakes. I look forward to converting them to your way of thinking.

Hello just wanted to say I recieved the book and videos. I started practicing the techniques right away, my goal is to master them so I can do the 4-leaf clover (excercise-6) with ease. I’m riding a Yamaha Raider so I’ll let you know how it goes; so far so good. And you’re right after just a few sessions I find riding more enjoyable. Thanks

  151. John - August 8th, 2011

Just recieved your book and DVD in the mail. I am a retread who has been a bike quite a while. I am planning to re-learn correctly from the ‘ground up’ so to speak. Thanks for the great info.

  152. Ken White - August 5th, 2011

I happened to be at Susie’s Restaurant a couple weeks ago down near Denver Colorado when a bunch of lady riders pulled in all decked out in pink. One of those riders, I come to find out, was Donna from Ride Like a Pro.  She did an amazing demo for the girls at the place and I felt lucky to have witnessed such skill and confidence in your wife. She did your company proud that afternoon, I asked around who in the heck she was after I saw her ride.  I went to your website and bought all your dvds and new book.  I can only hope to ride half as good as your wife. I am practicing and for the first time in my life, I understand what I need to master when it comes to riding my motorcycle.  Thanks to you both.

  153. Gary - August 3rd, 2011

I just bought my first motorcycle: 2010 Harley Fat Bob.  I previously took a MSF course and passed.  However, I put a foot down when I had to perform a figure 8.  After buying the Ride Like a Pro 5, I realized where the MSF course fell short: the three basic steps.  I used to look at the space between two curbs in front of my house as being impossible to perform a u-turn on a 96ci bike.  Now I can ride with confidence knowing that all I need is around 18 feet.

    Thanks Motorman!

  154. James - July 12th, 2011

Its been 20 years since ive riden a bike. Due to a back injury and the inevitable future outcome I wanted to ride again before it was too late and regretted not doing so. Your video has given me the confidence and tools to enjoy the time I have left to ride. Whether that time is 2 years or 10 years I know I will do so with enjoyment because of your video. Thank you so much.

  155. Oscar - July 11th, 2011

    Dear Motorman,

I have been reviewing and practicing via your video “Ride Like a Pro” for 1 year and 3 months and I have to fully acknowledge that it has been one of the most valuable and enhancing ancillary purchases I have made for my motorcycle.  I had been riding since 98′, stopped around 2004 and reengaged it in 2008 with a Vulcan 900.  I subsequently purchased a 2012 Goldwing and without a doubt your course gave me the confidence and the ability to pilot such a huge bike.

I try to mention your course to other cyclist when ever possible, although many seem to think they are fine skill wise where they are.  Come what may, I am very grateful for this course work and will continue to practice, promote and perfect the techniques outlined in your video (Although it is a bit of a transition going from 657lbs to 936lbs).

So with that being said, thank you very much for outputting such a fine training video and I look forward to any additional training material you will put out in the future.

Best DVD I ever purchased. Money well spent. I purchased my DVD 4 or 5 years ago. When My Son-In-Law purchased his 1st Motorcycle I gave him the DVD. He rode & practiced what was in that DVD. I have seen big Men struggle to hold a Small Motorcycle at slow speeds but with this you know how to handle what’s coming & what to expect. GREAT Job JERRY & CREW. Allen Hughes. INDIANA

  157. Ross Cowan - July 4th, 2011

I purchased your RLAPro V video and today I used the skills you taught and that I practice faithfully.  The event happened as I was going through the most congested part of town.  This area has a lot of stores and fast food joints.  Acar in ahurry to pull out into traffic apparently did not see me and I had to take some serious evasive action!  I even scraped the footboard as I maneuvered to miss this car.  It was close but without your video and lots of practice it could have been much worse than just a scraped floorboard.  Thanks you very much for the video. I’m sure my family appreciates it also.

  158. Bruce B. - July 1st, 2011

I just took the Ride-Like-A-Pro class in Mountainside, NJ given by Al and Bill. It was a terrific experience learning the three techniques, friction zone, head and eyes, and rear break.  I definitely feel that I learned a lot from the experience and was able to further explore both my riding limits and the limits of the bike.  Awesome class… I highly recommend it.

    Jerry, Donna and Victoria,

thank you for bringing your school to Ct. Ride like a Pro is an awesome class. I believe your video should come with the purchase of a motorcycle, like a gun lock comes with a gun. It really saves lives. The day after I rode with you guys I had to respond to another motorcycle crash on the highway. I believe the crash could have been easily avoided if the operator had learned your techniques. As an Traffic Crash Reconstructionist I really appreciate you coming up. Hopefully more of our residents will be exposed to your video and learn to ride better and minimize the Fatal or serious injury crashes I have to investigate. You guys are awesome.”

I’ve been riding only about 5 years and I’ve used your DVDs to better control my HD Street Glide, and now I have a beautiful Ultra Glide Custom Limited.  I haven’t been able to practice the exercises as much as I’ve liked – maybe 5 or 10 times over the years – but they have been a big help.

I recently attended an Advanced Rider Course here in Northern Virginia.  It was a personalized 1-on-1 session with a former motor squad police officer, and it lasted an entire afternoon.

During the debrief he told me that I was skilled enough to rank in the top 5% of the riders that he has trained, and that I was already well ahead of most riders who qualify to attend their Expert Rider Course.

He joked that because I had such a good control of the friction zone, that I must have been born with it.  I told him, no, that I had been practicing with “Ride Like A Pro” DVDs.

Honestly, the instruction and examples that you provide in the DVDs were much better – and more challenging – than the Advanced Rider Course.

We did some great braking exercises and demonstrations that made the Advanced course worthwhile, but your DVDs were much better instruction on how to control the bike and to make turns.

I just wanted to thank you for such a great product.

  162. Harold R. Hansen - June 16th, 2011

While I have watched Ride Like a Pro V a number of times, I am really glad I ordered “Ride Like a Pro The Book.” Last time I went out to practice, I actually brought my portable DVD player and RLAP V disk with me. The book makes it a whole lot faster and easier to setup and review the exercises than trying to search the DVD. It’s also really helpful to read the details of the techniques.  While there is audio on the DVD  describing the techniques, the written version adds even more information.

There are plenty of photos and the text is easy to read and understand.

    Well worth it.

My wife Jean and I just completed a private training class with Motorman Jerry.  I can say without reservation, I learned more in that three hour class than I had learned in my previous 42 years of riding!  My confidence level is over the roof.  And my wife who has only been riding for a few years, was elated over what she learned and was on cloud nine the whole weekend afterwards.

To anyone contemplating taking one of Jerry’s classes or buying his videos, DO IT NOW!!  You will definitely be a much better rider for it!

I bought your best combo deal you offer and I gotta tell you, it’s the best money I’ve ever spent on me and my motorcycle.  I thought I knew it all, turns out, I have a lot to learn.  Thank you for doing these videos and writing your book for all us riders, you’re saving lives.

  165. Col. Terry S Lee - May 24th, 2011

    Hello Jerry and Donna,

I am currently deployed to middle of Afghanistan for my unit in the Army. Once I decided to try out this called “motorcycling”, I knew I had to find good sources to learn before I get to my BRC class once I get back home. So after little bit of researching which books or videos to get, I decided to purchase your videos and book to start. I have ordered one of those combo deal at your website and was anxiously waiting to be delivered. When I finally received my order which only took 7 days including Sunday all the way to Afghanistan, I was surprised to see extra video was included with “thank you note” from Donna Palladino serving the country. That extra care and gift was very nice of you. As we perform our duties in the mountainous and desert environment far away from home, it is extremely nice to know that someone else back home care about what we do and appreciate. Believe it or not, it is little thing like this do matters to my soldiers on the daily basis. Thank you again.

I have yet to study the videos and book but I am sure it will be much help to my future as motorcyclist. Take care.

    Hi jerry,

Thanks for the quick response.  You have solved one of my mystery’s of riding.  I am one of those guys returning to riding after 35 years.  I really want to learn the correct way, stay alive and have fun.  I have watched your video at least 30 times and read your book.  Now I need to practice your techniques and get better.

    Thanks Again,

PS. Thanks also to Donna, Maryann, and Tim…

Thank you for your excellent Book and videos.  You are definately saving lives with educating all of us riders out here. Your Book and videos are the best I’ve ever read and watched. Keep up the good work, we need you out here to teach some classes. Your wife and the other female riders ride better than most guys I ride with.

  171. Douglas L Thompson - April 10th, 2011

I’ll never have the abilities of the riders in the video but you’ve given me the motivation to practice and gain confidence. I’ve 35yr of riding time (notice I didn’t say experience , the 1st 6mo are your experience). If I had a goal it’d be to turn both ways with the bars all the way to the stops. 2009 Road King Classic. God Bless!!

  172. Craig Wells - April 6th, 2011

I’d like to thank you all for your DVD’s, specifically Ride Like A Pro and Learn To Ride The Easy Way.  I’ve had my M1 for about a week, and have been practicing on a HD ElectraGlide.  Though it would be nice to practice on something lighter, this is the only motorcycle available to me.  Watching your videos is giving me the confidence to practice daily, and letting me know what I’m doing right and, most importantly, what I’m doing wrong.  I’ll be taking a MSF class in June, and am looking forward to it all the more.  Once again, thank you all for your help.

I would like for Jerry “Motorman” Palladino to get this email please.  I just got my lic. 2 month ago from Miami Dade Kendell Campus.  I did learn there but when I found out about Jerry “Motorman” Palladino DVD and saw him in Youtube and quickly order the DVD and watch it over 4 times. Last week I bought me a 2011 Yamaha Stryker and I pratice everything Jerry show in the DVD and I get better every time I get out riding.

I want to thank  Jerry “Motorman” Palladino for this great video and as a new rider it has help me a lot and his jokes on the DVD are not bad either.

    Thank You Jerry.

I got back into riding last October after 20 years off and having turned age

    65.  Wondered if I would still like it as much.  Heard about your video so I

sent for it and the book when I bought my Kawasaki Vulcan 900 which was my

choice because of the lighter weight at my age.  It has made a total

difference in how I ride and my confidence level.  I wish I had this video

back in the 80’s and I would have been much more confident then.  I tell a

lot of people about it and even had you send one to my friend who has been

riding for 30+ years and he got a lot out of it also.  Just moved jup to a

Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe which is 200 lbs heavier than the Kawasaki but

I had no question in my mind I would be alright with it and I am.  I have

long lost the terrible thoughts of hating u turns and staying in control at

low speeds coming to lights, etc.  Riding is now much more fun and I look

for reasons to ride.  The $50 I spent on the video and book was the best $50

I ever spent with respect to having a motorcycle.  I’ll be at the Leesburg

Bike Fest and look forward to seeing your show and demonstration.  Thanks

I am impressed with your site and now realize how little I really know.  I’ve been riding bikes since I was 13 and riding street bikes since I was 19.  I currently have a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Nomad.  I want to improve my skills and have today (08Mar11) ordered your “best combo deal”.  I spoke with Donna and she was very friendly and helpful. I look forward to getting your book and DVD.

I have also recommended your site to another friend who is having problems – she is a novice driver and could really use your expertise and knowledge.

      Keep up the good work.

Great news motorman – I can now confirm that I am absolutely NOT a footdragger. I just replaced my tires and the soles of my riding boots are still in good condition. 😉

Seriously though, thanks to you, any time my bike is in motion, my feet are UP. And I can now definitively say that those who are footdraggers really don’t know how to ride their motorcycle! Thanks so much for your great video, I am a much better rider, thanks to you.

  178. Charles Landrum - March 6th, 2011

I just wanted to fire off an email to you guys to say great videos and instructions. Thanks for the free welder’s cap, I LOVE IT!  I’ve been riding bikes for a few years and have always wanted to get better for a safety stance. I’m a Police Officer that has worked a lot of motorcycle accidents that could have been avoided. I wanted to become a safer/better rider but those motorcycle safety classes left a lot to be desired. I have a 2009 Street Glide that handled fine until I recently added a 21″ front wheel and bagger Ape hangers. Everyone told me the bike would handle poorly in slow speed turns and be very unstable.

Most of this probably comes from people not wanting to take the time to learn. I have to admit the front end is very heavy and wants to flop at slow speeds.

I recently took a free HOG riding course that involved all the obstacles you have in your videos. I was very surprised the I wasn’t as good as I thought. I was even more surprised that some of the guys that have been riding for 20+ years wouldn’t even do it. I was all over the place and knocked over most of the cones and even dropped the bike. I was determined and ordered your 3 DVD combo pack and book the next week. I watched the DVD’s, read the book, and even bought some cones.

After the first few hours I was riding 100% better and able to complete all the obstacles. I’ve been doing it for three Sundays with a friend and pushing it harder every time. We’ve got to the point that people are gathering to watch and some even try it.

To make a long story short, I just wanted to say thanks for the great instructions and the confidence you’ve given me. I also wanted to say that these DVDs have more than likely saved lives.

Thanks for your time and keep up the good work, Charles Landrum

  179. Ferron Fruean - March 4th, 2011

Truly amazed at how user friendly the dvd is. Also at the speed it took, to get to me, at the other end of the world. We would love to have your classes downunder. Can we make it happen? It has taken my enjoyment of riding to another level. Cheers.

    Thanks Motorman!!!

I just bought a new Kawasaki Concours 14 ABS.  I’ve owned bikes before but this is the heaviest.  After watching your number V dvd and going out to practice, I feel much more comfortable and confident.  I will keep practicing.

I highly recommend your DVD to other riders.

Just finished watching all the DVDs in the combo deal.  I thought I was good after the riders edge course, but your DVDs have enhanced my skill level 150%.  You shouldn’t get your motorcycle endorsement until you have seen these DVDs.

    Thanks Jery.

  183. Allan Hoffman - February 10th, 2011

so enjoyed meeting you all in Atlanta last month.  Enjoyed the show and added your book and a video to my “Ride like a Pro” collection.  Keep doing what you do, it makes a great difference to every rider that encounters you.

  184. Brian - February 3rd, 2011

I recently bought your Ride Like a Pro V video after a friend let me preview his copy.  I knew after watching it a single time that I had to buy a copy of my own so I could refer to it again and again.  I’ve been riding for about 20 years and thought I knew all there was to know about riding a bike.  Its very much like you said of yourself in the video, that you had been riding for 20 years and thought you had 20 years of riding experience, when in reality you had one year of riding experience repeated 20 times!  That’s exactly the way I felt when I watched your video for the first time.  So far I have spent only a few hours of practice of your techniques, and already there is a world of difference in my riding ability.  I highly recommend this video for all motorcycle riders, no matter how much experience you’ve had or how much you think you know.  Jerry and Donna and all the crew, keep up the great work!

  185. John Hammond - January 24th, 2011

I found you on Youtube and was intrigued by your teaching style.  I then went to your website, ordered your complete package and can’t thank you enough. You are the missing link in teaching us how to ride the right way. My skills have improved 100%.

I bought ‘Learn to Ride the Easy Way’, ‘Ride Like a Pro’ and ‘Surviving the Mean Streets’ Videos last week.  I watched all three over the weekend and I was very impressed with Jerry’s knowledge and his ability to instruct in a clear precise manor.  The videos are interesting and informative from start to finish and extremely helpful.  I thought I knew how to ride on two wheels and realized I did not know as much as I thought after watching these videos. I recently bought a new bike after 20 years on 4 wheels and knew I needed help.  I did not feel as in control as I knew I should be.

I survived two major accidents on the highways in the past 4 years in a 4 wheel SUV without a bruise because I knew instinctively how to react.  First accident was on a two lane road with one lane north and one south on a rainy day.  As an approaching pickup neared me his left front tire blew and in an instant I am looking at his front grill both of us driving 60 plus mph.  Without touching the breaks I steered right and the pickup hit behind my drivers seat.  I spun down the road for an eternity and the pick up rolled sideways 3 or 4 turns.  A young man, wife, and too very young kids in the pickup got out with only minor bruises.  My wife and I had no scratches or bruises but it was an hour before my wife could speak again.  Everyone was fine no hospital trips and both vehicles were completely totaled.  Had I hit my brakes or jerked the wheel we may not have been so lucky.

The next accident occurred on a four lane divided highway two lanes north and two south.  I was heading north well behind a small pick up with a trailer full of household goods.  A car heading south in the rain began to hydroplane a quarter mile ahead.  The hydroplaning car started off the road to his right then jerked left across the divided highway head-on into the pickup with trailer ahead of me.  What once was a large space between me and the pickup with the trailer disappeared fast as the pickup was stopped dead in it tracks from 60 plus miles per hour. I had let off the gas when I first saw the car lose control and that gave me the time to steer around the accident on the median.  The two vehicles that hit head-on exploded into pieces in front of me.  As I steered around the accident on the raised median the motor from the hydroplaned car rolled into the side of my SUV.  After I went around the accident I was back on the road heading north and pulled over to stop. The motor slashed both my tires on the passenger side with only one tire going flat.  Some minor damage to the side of my SUV.  Both vehicles in the head on were in pieces all over the road.  Sadly the driver of the hydroplaned car died a few days later.  The driver of the pickup had broken legs and a lot of bumps n bruises but otherwise OK.  My wife was able to speak again after a couple hours.

I think about both these accidents often when driving and how very fortunate I was.  Now on two wheels again I felt I did not have the same skills on two wheels as I did four.  Not much could have been done by myself or the pickup with the trailer that was hit by the hydroplaned car to prevent these accidents. It happened so fast there was no where for the little pickup to run.

I am so glad I purchased the Learn to Ride the Easy Way DVD.  I almost did not because I thought I knew how to ride I just need to hone my skills.  But after watching Learn to Ride the Easy Way I have learned the correct way to ride and control the bike and will hopefully avoid bad habits.  After my two recent experiences on the road I have no doubt these skills may be able to help me if the situation ever comes up.  All three of these videos are invaluable to own and watch when you consider the alternative to not having these skills taught in all three videos if you need them in an instant.  When something happens you may have no time to think and hopefully just enough time to react.

Thank You Jerry and Dr Donna for your efforts in making these excellent videos available.

I also live on a gravel road, about a mile long.  Your use of the rear brake and friction zone did the trick here.  Most of the time the gravel is soft from grading, use of the rear brake and friction zone allows me to make a 45 degree turn in the gravel with ease at a walking pace constant speed. I ride a 1997 Harley Heritage Softail.

Your video has helped improve my riding skills a great deal, can not thank you enough.

After having raced motorcycles for just shy of 40 years I just ordered my first heavyweight tourer, a Harley Electra Glide.  Intimidated by the weight, I ordered and devoured your book and videos before the bike even has arrived and am very impressed.

Am very much looking forward to working through the exercises, as learning and mastery of a craft is a primary value of mine.  Couldn’t be happier with the offerings of the Ride Like a Pro team.

    Thank you.

  193. David Gardner - December 21st, 2010

I just wanted to write a quick letter of thanks. I have been riding for

about 4 years (yeah, I know I still have that new car smell). In that time I

    have owned/ridden a 2007 Honda Shadow Aero, a 2007 V-Star 1300, a 2007 Road

Star, and, Friday I took delivery on a 2011 FLTRX Road Glide (yes, my wife

will kill me if I buy another bike anytime soon).

I broke down and bought your videos because, I felt, the size of my

bikes were rapidly outstripping my skill level. My wife, an ER nurse, had

become very reluctant to ride with me. Additionally, I was a Paramedic in

Maine for 6 years, followed now by 15 years of various types of ER and ICU

nursing. My current role is Case Manager for Trauma at the Medical College

of Georgia. My patient exposure has shown me that almost a equal amount of

time it is a single rider error that gets the rider into trouble versus the

“other guy.” I had spent most of the last 4 years watching for the other guy

and not concentrating on my own skill which I knew were inadequate. I did

not want to become a patient on my own service.

Anyway, I bought the videos, watched the videos (which is always

helpful), read the book, and practiced the manuevers. I saw almost an

immediate improvement in my riding. I took my wife on a long ride on

Saturday and she said she saw an *** improvement, plus she said it was

the safest she felt on a bike. She contributes it to the Harley, but I

    contribute it to the videos.

Once again, I say thanks. Very likely, you have saved me from avoidable

accidents and avoidable errors. Potentially, based on what I have seen here,

you may have saved me from serious injury.

    Very Respectfully,

I just wanted to thank you for the information in your dvd. I have been riding off and on since I was 25 (I’m now 65), and I found the information in the first 10 minutes of the dvd priceless. I have always had problems making slow, sharp right hand turns. The 3 basic steps you teach have increased my slow riding skills 200%. That alone is worth double the price of the dvd. Thank You!

I ordered your Christmas special combo deal for my son on Thursday, it arrived today. Your service is outstanding! thank you!

  196. Caesar - December 4th, 2010

Took the class today at Space Coast Harley and had a blast.  I never would have guessed the V-Rod could have made those tight turns.  Thanks for putting on a great course!!

  197. Bill - December 1st, 2010

Thank you so much for your input and recommendations. I felt I would get a more candid/realistic answer from you than my H-D dealer and am happy I made the right choice.  I will follow your recommendations accurately and feel much better about putting in the practice often.  Currently the weather in California leaves me limited practice opportunity with my one day a week off work, but I recently bought a couple dozen little cheap “youth soccer league” cones very cheap and will be assaulting them as necessary to build those riding skills.  I am working as quality control on the new San Francisco/Oakland bay bridge and won’t be riding in the local ‘traffic’ until my skills are well developed via the RLAP V tutorial exercises.  I look forward to collecting & utilizing each successive video thereafter.

I want you to know I replay every exercise in your video a lot.  You have input so much good information, and as a learner I want to take it all in while ‘keeping it simple’.  After completing a riders edge program from H-D, I found myself with numerous questions opening in my mind.  Your dvd answers many of those ponderings and so much more.  It is the best (early xmas) gift I have ever received in that I am sure this training will sooner or later be a life saver.  I am told by fellow riders that I also no longer leave the obvious tell tale signs of a rookie leaving and stopping at lights, etc.  Tailoring my seat and repositioning my handlebars also generated a huge benefit, thank you.  Btw, nobody brought those suggestions to my attention until I watched your dvd for the first time…….

In closing, I am compelled to mention that my lovely wife will not experience her first ‘ride’ on the new bike until I can run the RLAP V exercises proficiently with her on board.  We hope to meet you in person at a local(ish) HOG event or show someday.

Thanks again for being there for all of us.

P.S. My best to the entire team!

  198. Willard G. Wood - November 26th, 2010

Having purchased the Harley Electra Glide Ultra Classic in March, it felt like I was riding a monster, listening to you-tube video’s has helped tremendously. Now I am buying your Ride-Like-a-Pro! 🙂

  199. Stu - November 24th, 2010

Thank you motorman, The greatest how to instructions ever!  By offering these tapes, you have probably prevented hundreds of accidents across the country!

  200. Mr. Mike - November 21st, 2010

I purchased the Videos and found they were a great educational item for me personally. I have been riding bikes for years and found that new ways to meke both the ride satisfying but more importantly safer with the these videos.

    Thanks Jerry !

  201. Donald - November 20th, 2010

After watching your videos I realized the skill set I was missing to pass the state riding exam was slow ride control.  I bought cones found a parking lot and practiced the quick stop, cone weave, left and right turns, left and right  U turns as outlined in your pdf.  After practicing for 3 hours every weekend throughout August and September I took the last state exam for the season October 29, 2010 and passed. I was surprised at how much easier it was on the Yamaha TW 200 than on my Yamaha VStar 650.  The first thing I will do in April is pull out the cones and brush up on my skills.  Thanks to your online videos I am getting closer to riding like a pro.

  202. Andy Messersmith - November 18th, 2010

    Jerry and Donna,

I was a student at your class last month, it was the best 150.00 bucks I’ve ever spent in my life.  Your instruction is invaluable and has helped me so much with my riding skills.  I’ll be back with some friends soon for another class.  Keep doing what you guys do, it’s making a difference in so many rider’s lives.  Thank you.

  203. Allan Hoffman - November 9th, 2010

I’m buying another video (ride the dragon’s back)  from you and want to thank you for the “Ride like a pro.” DVD  I have watched about ten times.

Before I purchased a motorcycle I went to Harley’s “rider’s edge” course, it was good but I think your course is better and easier to understand.  I have set up cones as you describe in the DVD and used my rear brake and clutch tension to help me manuever through all the practices.  Head and eyes keeping me from tipping my bike and allowing me to negotiate the cone obstacles and U-turns and figure eights like a professional MC rider.  I am now very good in parking lots, intersections and inclosed parking areas.  Control is easier and no obstacle or situation seems to throw me off my traffic/two wheel awareness.  Thanks for all you do and keep me informed of any more videos that you produce.   Also let me know if you are ever in Atlanta or anywhere in Georgia; I’d like to meet you and shake your hand.

    Allan Hoffman

  204. Kevin Egly - November 3rd, 2010

Jerry never heard of you until a few weeks ago. I enjoy your videos, excellent instruction!

  205. Travis Cross - October 29th, 2010

Hi Jerry, I wanted to thank u for your help. I purchased your latest video and thanks to those skills I passed my motorcycle skills test at the CA DMV this morning…The examiner said I made it look easy…I was on a 2004 Road king with apes!! He looked at my bike and I could tell he thought I wasnt going to pass…but it was easy. Thank You!! – Travis Cross

  206. Richard Dike - October 25th, 2010

All I can say is WOW!  I have learned so much watching Ride like a Pro III that I am ordering ride like a pro V for myself (RLAP III was a friends that he loaned to me). Knowing and doing are two different things, but practice will get me to where I will ride with full skills. I am an experienced rider, but your tips have really helped to improve my slow speed manuvering skills. Thank you!

  207. Jose R. Figueroa - October 19th, 2010

This videos are the best. Here in Puerto Rico we do not have the benefit of the MSF, so I find this videos very helpfull.Keep making more taining videos.Thanks. JOE.

  208. Don Hess - October 15th, 2010

I bought the Ride Like a Pro video, and I’m absolutely amazed at what I’ve learned and already put into practice with one viewing, and as yet, no practice course set up. Turn your head and look where you want to go is absolutely the single best piece of advice I’ve encountered in 43 years of riding! I feel a lot like a comment you make in the video, where you had x number of years riding, but really 1 year of experience, followed by X years of making the same mistakes! Each time I ride, I practice as many of the techniques as possible, and hope to set up a practice course before winter. If your training program ever gets close enough to me, I’ll be taking the course in person. I’m responsible for the commercial driver training, fire science, and law enforcement programs at the college where I work, and have been teaching for some twenty years. Your instructional techniques and presentation are as good as I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing your expertise, and keep up the great work!

  209. Diane Jacobson - October 12th, 2010

I wanted to drop you a line to tell you how thankful I am to you.  I was ready to quit riding because I was a big chicken and yes, a footdragger.  You have shown me the light and I am forever grateful that I found your company.  My skills have improved just like you say in your videos.  Instead of giving up riding, I’ve moved up to a bigger cruiser and it handles like a dream because I am in control.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  210. Danny Young - October 10th, 2010

thanks for your excellent instruction in your Book and your videos.  I am amazed at how my skills have improved since I got your videos and book.  I am the riding envy of all my buddies that thought they knew how to ride. Keep doing what you do, it works!

  211. Rick Ditchburn - September 28th, 2010

    Hi Jerry & Donna,

I would to thank you both for the DVD`s that you have sent us, my wife and I have learnt a lot from these and no doubt will learn a lot more, I my self have been riding for a lot of years and your DVD`s have taught me a lot of better ways to ride a Motorbike. My wife Rhonda is a learner and she is still a little bit nervous when she first gets on her bike ( 250 Virago ) but soons settles down, the hardest part is for her is to feel safe doing her turns when going slow, but she will get there with practise. Our laws in Victoria Australia are that you can only ride up to a 650cc bike that is not high powered for 12 months after getting your license, after that you can ride what you like. Anyway I mainly wanted to thank you for your great job on these DVD`s.

                                Rick Ditchburn

  212. Wayne - September 27th, 2010

I read your articles very very carefully because something like this happened to me just this past week, and I have been riding for more that 40 years.

For the two weeks prior I have been practicing the exercises in “Ride Like a Pro” and thought I was becoming pretty good.  But this past week on my trip to Durango, CO, and trying to do everything right, it was like I had forgotten how to ride.

I know that I need to continue my practice, learn the proper techniques, and forget the old.  But there is a learning curve.  It is like I have forgotten the old way but not efficient with the new.

  213. Jim - September 27th, 2010

I just received your Ride Like a Pro V video. I have already watched it twice and started practicing the techniques.

I am really impressed at the detail included in the video. Although I have quite a bit of practice in front of me, I feel confident that with the help of the information in the video, I will be a much better rider in the future.

Thank you for a great video. With just one practice session, I am starting to feel like I am controling the bike instead of it controlling me.

    Take care, Jim

  214. Gabrielle Porter - September 10th, 2010

I really enjoyed speaking with you and your wife at the WVA HOG Rally last week.  Watching both of you ride is like poetry in motion. Thank you for coming up to the rally.

  215. Trevor Jones - September 9th, 2010

Thank you for coming to the West Virginia State HOG Rally and doing your shows.  Your entire team of riders were very inspirational, (we never saw anything like it in our lives, you guys are good).  Your wife rides better than me and most men riders. I bought your dvd, it’s very good, thank you for doing what you do.

  216. Becky and Randy Johnson - September 7th, 2010

My hubby and I caught your show on Saturday at the HOG Rally, we were blown away by your wife’s riding skills. I bought the package deal you were offering, the best money I’ve spent on me and my bike. The best information and methods I’ve ever seen, excellent Book and DVDs!!I want to ride as well as you and your wife. Thanks!

  217. jim marchman - August 16th, 2010

Let me take time to express my sincere appreciation for what you all do, both in person and on video. I took my stepson, then 18 or 19, to one of your demos because he simply HAD to learn what I had learned from you. I wouldn’t budge on that! Jerry showed special interest in talking with him even though he was too “cool” to act like he was paying attention. Jerry pushed on and gave him some words of advice and encouragement. He and I now really appreciate that! He is now in the Navy in California riding his 2010 Triumph Daytona with skill and confidence. I made him prove to me he could ride before taking him on a 250 mile round trip to the Barber Museum near Birmingham, AL. It was a group ride with about a dozen other experienced riders. He did great and mentioned that he remembered “what Jerry said” on that trip. It was his first ride longer than to the corner store and back! Jerry, you may have saved my boy’s life without even knowing it. Thanks for all you and your crew do for us riders!

  218. Donna Palladino - August 15th, 2010

    Hi Blade,

We have a Ride Like a Pro Maryland franchise in your area, here’s our Instructors information for you, btw, it’s right on our “rider classes” tab on our website,

  219. Blade - August 15th, 2010

Great tips on how to improve riding skills. Are you available to do classes in the Washington, DC area and how do I arrange for you to be here to conduct such classes.

  220. Jeremy Richardson - August 14th, 2010

Wanted to drop you a note to thank you for your excellent DVDs and Book.  I got your summer combo deal and boy, what a deal it is, my skills are much improved, THANK YOU.  Everyone that rides should own these, it will save their lives.

  221. Jonas Gehringer - July 27th, 2010

I wanted to tell your wife that I saw her riding on Mt. Evans in Colorado a couple weeks ago.  Looked like a big Ultra Classic she was on, man can she ride.  I recognized her once I reached the top.  She had a ride like a pro jacket on and she sure as hell does ride like a pro.

  222. Ken Heili - July 15th, 2010

I am a 39 year old new rider (well, been on a few dirt bikes about 20 yrs ago)I now have a Vulcan 800 cruiser and have found it a bit intimidating, I am afraid of it and I know that is a bad thing…Love your videos, seeing a 15 yr old girl riding makes it a little less frightning!Lol :sigh

  223. Greg - July 6th, 2010

I purchased the RLAP video several months ago and recently took the class at RLAP New Jersey. I’d just like to say the class was excellent and the Officers who taught it were both outstanding. I have no doubt I’m now a better ride having been to RLAP. I’ve been practicing “the three techniques” since watching the video but I have to say, being at the class in person and having experienced instructors to help brought everything home. Those.. small little things they helped with have made a huge difference in my riding. So, my thanks to you all and especially to Bill and Al at RLAP New Jersey.

  224. Don D - July 2nd, 2010

On a recent two-week motorcycle ride from Memphis to Key West, my riding partner mentioned that he had watched your video and it was very helpful.  So, when we returned, I ordered Ride Like a Pro.  How interesting and embarrassing to watch your excellent program.  I bought my first bike when I was 13– a Simplex Automatic.  I’m now 68 and over the years, I’ve ridden a Honda 550, a GoldWing, BMW 1200, and several Harleys, Softtail Deuce, V-Rod, and ’05 RoadKing– which is what I ride now.  And I’m probably now addicted to the RoadKing.  I’ve done some long rides in the Mountain States, Nova Scotia and numerous rides from Memphis to Hilton Head.  The point is, I was embarrassed at how much I didn’t know!!!!  I had no idea how wrong I was using the front wheel brake.   Along with numerous other pointers this video has been a tremendous help.  I’ve watched it at least four times and pickup something new each time.  I’ve done some practicing in empty parking lots without cones or other markers but plan to get something to help even more.

My riding partner and I are planning a month-long trip from Memphis to the West Coast next spring and before then I plan to go through your school in Port Richey.

One question I’d raise– do you have any pointers for riding in torrential rain with extremely low visibility and there’s no shelter to be found?!     I’ve had this experience several times when I was afraid to keep riding and afraid to stop.

One final thing– this video is extremely well done– the quality of the product and the info are excellent.  Good job.  I’ve already recommended it to a half dozen riders.

    Be safe.

  225. Ray - July 2nd, 2010

I ordered your video last week, it arrived within days and communication from order to delivery was awesome.

I have been working with a motorcycle instructor who specializes in teaching CHP motorofficer training skills. My 1st lesson was pretty horrible, However after watching your video and practicing with my mountain bike I went in for another class today. The difference is ***. I can now do figure 8’s within 2 parking spaces, The 12′ weaves that I thought impossible before are now a piece of cake.

The difference in control and confidenci I now have are simply ***. Thank you for a great video. You do a great job of teaching the skills I enjoy your sense of humor and especially the examples of what people do wrong.

    Thanks again

  226. Phil - July 1st, 2010

    Dear Jerry,

I have been wanting to learn to ride a motorcycle for a long time. I’ve been around for over a half a century but never got up th courage to try it until last year (at the coaxing of my son). I took the MSF course and got 100% on the written test but on the skills test I found that for myself, I was too green, there were too many people in my way (just like myself) and the instructors were focusing more on the things that would eventually come naturally and not the details to get me over the hump one day. I recieved ‘Ride Like A Pro 5’ from you last Friday and it was like getting a personal instructor who could read my mind. I was getting extremely frustrated with the cone weave and U-Turn . I found that after the first viewing of your DVD I could do them both and after a few days practice I was actually doing them with ease. It especially helped that you showed the mistakes that are often made because I immediately saw myself. I have a 550 pound 700cc Honda Magna and can do the U-Turn inside the 20 feet lines most of the time. ***.

Anyway, I took the Alt-Most test today and easily passed. I thought that would be months away last week, not days. I now have my Motorcycle endorsement. Being older than most who start out, I have had plenty of time to know the dangers of riding and I know the endorsement is just a starting point but I now feel I have the tools to get a lot better and ride safely. Thank you for getting me over the hump and helping me acheive my dream of learning to ride a motorcycle.

My Magna thanks you too as it is no longer getting dumped LOL !

  227. Tom and Merita McGuire - June 20th, 2010

We wanted to thank you for coming to the Knoxville Rally and doing your shows.  My wife and I were blown away with you and your team’s riding skills.  Once my wife saw Donna and Marianne riding like cops, she said, “that’s it, I’m getting a bigger bike!”  I don’t know whether to thank you or curse you, haha. We bought your book and dvds, they are excellent.

  228. Bob Jones - June 18th, 2010

Hey Motorman!  Great show! I had the best time watching you and your team riding at the Knoxville rally yesterday. I’m bringing a bunch of my “”footdraggin”” friends there today so they can watch you guys and quit embarrassing me when we ride. You’re doing a great service to all riders. Your wife and marianne ride better than any guys I know! WOW!

  229. Dave Myers - June 13th, 2010

I attended the Illinois State HOG Rally and caught a few of your shows. I’m not easily impressed, however, you and your team were excellent.  Watching your wife ride better than most guys out on the road convinced me I needed your book and DVDs.  I bought them all and I’m once again, impressed. Thank you.

  230. Ron and Debbie Reynolds - June 10th, 2010

Thanks for coming up to the Illinois State HOG Rally and doing your shows and classes. My wife and I voted you and your riders the best thing about the rally. Your wife is a true inspiration for lady riders, she’s an outstanding rider, I’ve never seen any lady ride like her, ever.  Great shows, we appreciate what you’re doing for riders everywhere.

  231. Leo - June 9th, 2010

I received my order for the book and video of “Ride Like A Pro V” yesterday and sat and watched about 95% of it, way past my bed time. When ya get older, ya get tired earlier. But what really impressed me is the speedy time in receiving the material. Thank you for your great support. I’ll let you know how everything works out when I can get a chance to actually get out and try the exercises. Picking up the bike may be a bit tough on me though because of my arthritis in my hips. Makes it hard and painful to squat. Not to mention that the strength factor is greatly weakened. Again, Thank You for your awesome support.

  232. Mark and Emily Best - June 8th, 2010

    Hi Jerry and Donna,

Thank you both for coming to the Illinois State HOG Rally.  I spoke with many of the riders in attendance and I’d say, hands down, you were the favorite of the event. We truly thank you for what you both do in helping riders be the best they can be. Your class was the best I’ve ever attended, I learned so much and know what I need to work on to improve.

  233. Duane Griffith - May 25th, 2010

Just wanted to let you know I do appreciate your 1st class service, ordered 2 dvd’s on Friday morning, were shipped Friday night & got here Monday morning. Don’t know why everyone else can’t realize the importance of good service but very few do.

        Thanks again,

        Duane Griffith

        Abilene, Tx 79601

  234. Bill - May 18th, 2010

I ordered your Ride like a Pro V late friday afternoon and it was in my mailbox monday with no extra shipping charges. That’s what I call excellent service. Thank you!

  235. Liz Ireland - May 9th, 2010

I just received your video, thank you for such an enjoyable experience. I signed up for the local course offered the next day. Being the typical rider, a boomer with about 40,000 km of experience and wise enough to see when it’s me :>) I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your contribution to my riding experience. We should all be so fortunate to make such a positive contribution to so many. If that business value was the norm, just think where our world would be !!! I am a rider ( not biker:>) with a Honda, never saw Harleys look so good :>) I wanted to go out shopping for one of those the next day as well:>) Don’t know how better to express my appreciation to you all. I will be ordering stocking stuffers soon:>) thanks neighbor, :>) sincerely, Liz Ireland, Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island.

  236. Mark - May 9th, 2010

Just bought a yamaha royal star very heavy 🙁 but after taking an MSA course and watching your video’s…. 8) nooooproblem. Practice practice, practice.

  237. Joyce and Steve - May 1st, 2010

Got to see your show at the Leesburg bikefest last weekend. INCREDIBLE!  Thank you for your very entertaining show—watching the lady riders ride just like you convinced me and my husband that we definately need your help. We bought your dvds and book and hope to someday ride as well as you and your team.

  238. Andrew - April 25th, 2010

I teach math and I want to compliment you on one particular thing that I find good teachers do: besides the outright teaching, they convince the students that what they are learning comes down to technique that anyone can learn, and that the subject matter is not endlessly large. The best example of yours, and the one that totally changed my idea about motorcycles, is showing that 16 year old girl ride that big H-D as smooth as can be.

  239. Robyn - April 21st, 2010

Fantastic site – I’m motivated to get out and practice on my 2009 Kawasaki Nomad (glad you like the bike, btw) – I love it – but I have to get out of my comfort zone and get working on this slow speed work – I want to ride like Donna!

One question – where did Donna get her half chaps from?  I’ve been looking for some and like the looks of hers.

Keeping the shiny side up in Alberta, Canada!

  240. Patricia - April 19th, 2010

I enjoyed the “tour”!  I’ll be back for more.

  241. Nelson Thomas - April 16th, 2010

Just viewing some of the clips was very impressive. Hoping this DVD will help me and my wife improve our riding skills. 8)

  242. Bob Lamothe - April 13th, 2010

    Hey Motorman!

I took your riding course last November having trailered my Ultra Classic down from New Hampshire.  It was some course, you and Donna were awesome in your skill and guidance.

I’ll probably never have the crazy skills of the motorman, I’m still blown away by your trick of doing figure 8’s one handed and side saddle, but in the 4 hours of your course I learned to handle my bike in a new way.

Before I took your course I was afraid to lean the bike at low speeds, I was really intimidated by its weight having moved up from a much smaller Honda.  I used to creep the Harley out of my driveway keeping the bike as upright as possible and taking a wide arc, almost to the center line of the street which used to keep my stomache tight until I could straighten the bike out.  You often say these are parishable skills and it concerned me that I was going to put my bike up for the season as soon as I got home.  I was feeling a little anxious when I took it out for its first ride this spring that I may have lost what I gained with you.  It turned out to be a worry over nothing.  I got on the bike, went to the end of the drive and when I took off I laid the bike right over and practically had the front wheel on the fog strip on the side of the road as I headed down the street.(it was a right handed turn).

I enjoy riding my bike so much more now and low speed parking lot maneuvers no longer bother me.

I’m doubt I’ll be doing any side saddle figure eights any time soon, but the time and money I spent with you were very well spent indeed.

Again, you and Donna were great and my clutch feels so much better since you adjusted it (I still tell people the Motorman wrenched my Harley 🙂

My best to both of you and thanks for helping me build my skills.

    Bob Lamothe

  243. Anthony Robinson - April 8th, 2010

    Hey Jerry and Crew,

Wanted to let you know that I bought your Book, RLAP V and Mean Streets, they are the best around. Thanks for doing what you do. We’re having our Spring tune up safety class on Saturday and I feel confident I’ll do well, thanks to what you’ve taught me in your book and videos. I’ll let you know how it goes.

  244. Aub - March 31st, 2010

    Hello Motorman and Crew;

I purchase a 2010 Electra Glide Classic on the 10 Mar and right away I started looking for some advance training.

I took the basic Motorcycle course back in 1982 and got away from biking late 1985 when I sold my 750 Honda.

I receive the RLAP5 and book combo a couple of weeks ago. I found what I was looking for.

Motorman, Hats off to you and your crew for a job well done. I have only been practising the slow cone weave and Circle exercises thus far getting comfortable with the, “head and eyes, friction zone and little bit of rear brake”.(Love that statement).

Even with only about an hour and half of practise, I feel that I ride with more control now than I ever did. I will continue to practise every chance I get. My Harley sattle bags are packed with pylons, measuring tape, caulk, etc.

    Big Thanks

    Keep up the great work.

  245. James Prater - March 22nd, 2010

i just finished watching the ride like a pro 5 DVD and i believe that even i could do these move with a little practice… see i have rode off and on all my life and I’m 29 years old but never come close to anything like this i have always been to worried of injury to take chances in learning on a bike to move that well….the reason is I was ran over by a lawnmower at age 3 and over the many years to follow I ended up having 37 reconstructive operations on my left foot and as of lately my lovely wife just bought my first bike but to be honest i have always been a little scared to move like that but after watching your video i really believe that I can do those things with a bit of practice i would love to see you all preform do you have any demo’s planned for the Illinois area coming up? Well i can’t wait to get out and practice the move you all pull off so once again thank you

  246. Jerry Cabeliza - March 22nd, 2010

Ride Like a Pro 5 Video is a must for all motorcycle rides.  Man-O-Man what an excellent set of intructions.  If you say you have been riding for 10 plus years – well listen it does not come close to what you will learn in this video – really.  MotorMan! keep plugging this video a need tool.

  247. Joyce Britton - March 21st, 2010

This is a great thing your doing right here, I’am a 51 yr old female and just bought my first Harley and you have answered so many questions for me. Please keep up the GOOD work…

  248. Brian Boulet - March 21st, 2010

Yesterday we finally got to practice some of the techniques we learned in the video (We live in Maine so winter weather prohibited us from practicing until now)and my wife was able to keep her bike, an 08 Street Glide, going very slow around a parking lot without falling over.

This is where she has struggled since buying the Street Glide (It is a big bike for a small woman like her) and yesterday she did very well using your techniques.  I am going to buy some small cones (So I can carry them on my bike) and take her back there on Sundays.  I thought you should know that the video is helping both of us even though I have ridden for 40+ years (Started when I was about 10 on a small dirt bike).

  249. Pete Rabicci - March 21st, 2010

I saw your demo’s at the Ocean Center during bike week, OUTSTANDING. Your wife’s riding ability wow’d my buddies that can’t do a U-turn without dropping their bikes. We couldn’t believe how she did every turn just like you.  we bought all your videos and have actually gone out to practice, it works. thanks for helping all of us become safer and skilled riders.

  250. John and Carol Cubison - March 19th, 2010

We wanted to say thank you for what you do.  Your Book and videos are outstanding and are helping me and my wife become confident and skilled riders. Everyone that rides needs your book and videos.

  251. Dave Karvalis - March 8th, 2010

Really enjoyed your demo’s over at Bike Week.  I was impressed and that doesn’t happen to me very often.  I bought your Book and 3-pack of DVDs, excellent as well. You’re an asset to the riding community.

  252. Dennis Starkey - March 7th, 2010

My buddies and I got to see your shows at the Ocean Center during Bike Week.  You and your riders really opened our eyes to exactly what we don’t know, we bought all your videos and hope to one day ride as skilled as you, your wife and team of riders. Excellent demonstration.

  253. Ron Carpenter - March 6th, 2010

At 0900 Wednesday, March 3rd I ordered  “Ride like a Pro on the Dragon from your web site”.

I just finished watching it. (2100 Friday March 5th,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and you sent it thru the US Post Office.)

I think that you should start selling other things that I need, cause I sure as hell would buy them from you.

I am 69 years old and have been riding motorcycles since I was 15. My first bike was just that, a Wizzer motorbike. Somehow I got thru all these years without knowing some of the things you teach, although I think that I finally got smarter when I hit 65 years old.

That’s when someone talked me into taking an advanced riders course. I figured it would be a breeze, and probably would not teach me anything new, after all, I already knew everything there was about riding.

Well, as you probably can guess, I could not believe how much I DIDN’T know about riding.

Your Video’s will definitely add to that. Thanks to you and your crew for putting together a great product.

Bravo Zulu Copper, I sure do appreciate doing business with you.

  254. James and Gayle Smithers - February 17th, 2010

My wife and I bought your set of videos from you at the Texas HOG Rally last September.  My wife’s skills have improved 100% because she saw your wife riding that huge Harley and couldn’t believe how she handled it with such skill and was smiling the entire time she was riding! We don’t think you give your wife enough credit for her riding abilities. My wife said to tell you that because if it wasn’t for Donna, she wouldn’t be riding as well as she is now.  A huge segment of new riders are ladies in their late 40’s, early 50’s.  Your wife is definately one hell of an attractive lady and can really ride.  Keep up the good work, excellent videos and book.

  255. Michael Adams - February 15th, 2010

I purchased Ride Like a Pro and Riding the Dragon last spring anticipating a 2300 mile ride through Colorado Wyoming and Montana summer 2009. Your videos are Excellent!

I practiced in the parking lot and on the streets all spring and when I hit the mountain twistys I felt very prepared and confident on my Street Glide.

My brother was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident a couple of years ago and he had some attitudes and misconceptions that you fix at once and I feel he may have had a better outcome if only he had known what you teach.

I feel that EVERYONE who rides should have your video!

    Warmest Regards,

  256. Donna Profetta - February 11th, 2010

I wanted to thank you and your staff for the excellent customer service your company delivers.  Not only do you have the best products on the planet, your company definately knows how important customer service is and I appreciate it and have spread the word to every rider I know about your Book and videos. Thanks for doing what you do.  My skills and my husband’s skills have improved 100% because of your Ride Like a Pro V DVD along with all your other ones we bought and then went out and practiced.  ***, just ***.  Many, many thanks.

  257. Larry Venable - February 4th, 2010

I recently bought your Ride Like A Pro V and Ride Like A Pro on The Dragon DVD’s. What a great job. Even though I have been riding since 1994, I’ve discovered so many things I have been doing wrong, all those years. Your DVD’s will not only make my riding more enjoyable, but much safer. Just went out for a ride yesterday in the North Georgia Mountains and what a difference your tips on “the bike follows your eyes and head” made in navigating the twisting roads. Same regarding picking the proper line through the turns. I had been doing just the opposite and your way made a huge difference. My riding buddy commented “wow, you are really in the groove today.” I told him all about your DVD’s!!

  258. Jeff Williams - February 1st, 2010

I was lucky and got to see you and your crew riding last week in Norcross.  Your wife and the other gal are true inspirations to lady riders, (my wife was amazed and inspired) while watching them throw those huge bikes around with ease. Great show.

  259. Steve and Lauren - January 23rd, 2010

Saw you and your team riding today at the Great American MC Show.  We are so happy we got to see ya’ll in person and watch you and your team.  That little girl rider was great, your wife and Priscilla were incredible.  Thanks so much for doing what you do for all us riders.  Great show!

  260. Maureen Copse - January 22nd, 2010

  263. Keith - January 11th, 2010

Just wanted to thank you for great customer service.  Quick ship and received in a couple of days.  I have owned my first bike for only 6 months.  A friend of mine suggested the videos and I have been practicing what I have seen.  Thanks for the hard work.

    Thanks again.

At 57 years old I am a new rider with a Harley.  Your dvd has changed my confidence and skill level while riding 100%.  Thank you for creating a fantastic dvd to educate riders how to ride a motorcycle.  I have already directed many of my friends to your web site to purchase the dvd.           Happy New Year!

Your book is fantastic as well. Thank you for making your videos and book available to all of us that need your help so badly.  Your customer service is top notch, your instruction and easy to understand way is so helpful, thank you.

  269. Tom Guilermo - December 17th, 2009

  270. Bryan - December 15th, 2009

I just received the informative Ride Like A Pro V dvd through your ebay auction and have watched it several times. It takes what I learned in my motorcycle training course and adds many more useful tips.  Thanks for your help!

  271. Brian - December 4th, 2009

  272. Tony D'Abate - December 4th, 2009

    Dear Jerry,

I only want to thank you so much for what I learned by watching “Ride Like A Pro V”.  I practiced the techniques in advance of my Ohio riders course to become a safer rider and to obtain my MC endorsement.  I’m official now and feel I’m much better prepared to ride as a 51 year old “new” rider!  So thanks again for a GREAT dvd and for helping me to ride safer.  Keep up the great work!    Sincerely,

           Tony D’Abate, Lyndhurst, Ohio

  273. John Wright - November 30th, 2009

I want to say thank you for doing what you and your team do, helping fellow riders. I bought your new Book and Ride Like a Pro V DVD. They are the two best investments I’ve ever made. I’m amazed at how much I didn’t know and I’ve been riding for 24 years. I just bought another book and DVD for a friend for Christmas. Thanks for the discount.

Hope to see you in person at one of your classes or an event. Merry Christmas to you and yours, many thanks.

  274. Robert Leger - November 24th, 2009

I bought your video and it is a great confident builder. My dad was a dispatch ride in WW2 he teaches me basically all the thing you’re doing and more but he didn’t explain so well as you do. He’s reaction was to hit me on the back of the head with the barn broom wile I rode the bike, and saying you see stupid you didn’t see that coming . Keep your eye open at all times. Next time it could be an empty beer bottle. Back in the sixties bikers were not very well like. One thing he told me that still think about every time I go riding. Is what he kept preaching me Keep the rite tire pressure at all time you only have two tires and your life depends on them? Your driving instruction probably save a lot of bikers lives already. That is probably what inspired me to build the Savior250psi onboard tire   compressor. Keep up the good work

  275. Brian Zerkel - November 23rd, 2009

I saw you at the Bellfountaine Rally this summer. A freind of mine has yer dvd and had offered a few times to let me watch it.

After watching you ride, I accepted his offer. I’ve been practicing your rear braking the most on my Softail, and I’m amazed at the things I can do on it now.

    Keep spreading the word

    ride safe

  276. SGT Roger Mavis - November 17th, 2009

I just wanted to thank you again for the great videos I just received. I’ve been riding for over 20 years with a couple of riders edge courses under my belt, but I know what a year away from my Harley can do to my skills. I also have a few guys in my unit that have never ridden and are looking to get bikes when we return. With the help of your videos and a riders course they will have the skills they need. I plan on taking an advance riders course as well. I’m looking forward to getting home and on my new Electra Glide Ultra Limited and putting the videos to work.

    Your friend,

    SGT Roger Mavis

  277. Debbie Minton - November 8th, 2009

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the great riding lesson today.  I learned so much and hated to see the class end!

  278. Sam Young - November 4th, 2009

Thank you for producing the best instructional video and book. I cannot believe how much I did NOT know until I watched your video and read your book. ***!

Once Spring is here, I will be out there putting the 3 techniques into action. Thanks for all you do.

  279. John Williams - October 30th, 2009

I wanted to tell you that I learned so much from your rider class last weekend. Thank you.  I first saw you and your wife performing at the Ohio HOG Rally a couple years ago and knew I had much to learn. I was in Florida on vacation for two weeks when I took your class.  It was the best part of it, well, besides the sunshine and warmth. I now know what I was doing wrong with riding, your class has made me a much better and confident rider. I will be back down to take your class again, bringing some buddies, they need your help too. God bless you and your wife for what you’re doing for the motorcycling world.

    John from Ohio

  280. Charlotte - October 23rd, 2009

    Hi Jerry

I watched your Ride Like A PRO V dvd and LOVED it.  I am a 43 year old woman who had never ridden a motorcycle before.  Within 1 month of completing the motor skills 2 day course I passed my test first time with the great advantage of the skills that I learnt from watching your dvd.  I am totally bitten by the motorcycling bug and I have bought myself an 883 Sportster which I am currently trying to master.  You have brought the thrill of motorcycling to me and I thank you for it!

  281. Janet Michaels - October 18th, 2009

Thanks for putting on your shows at ROAR motorcycles during biketoberfest.  I was so impressed with your wife’s riding skills and bought your DVDs. I can only hope one day to ride as good as her. Your shows are great.

  282. Brian Boulet - October 7th, 2009

My wife, who both ride, Purchased “Ride like a ProV” and I learned something I did not know after 30+ years of riding the first hour.  We was so impressed we purchased a second copy for my brother.

My wife is a small women who rides an 08 Street Glide and I can see this being a big plus for her.  I myself ride an 08 Classic and what little I’ve seen so far of the DVD is already making a differance.

  283. Neil McKenzie - October 1st, 2009

    Hi Jerry and Donna,

I hope all is well with you and am glad to say I am happy to be buying from you again.

    Having previously bought

    Ride Like a Pro IV

    Riding the Mean Streets

Learn to Ride the Easy Way

    Police Motorcycle Rodeos

I keep a close eye on the website for any changes and noticed version V of RLAP has been released. I immediately rang and questioned the differences between IV and V and as a result have ordered the RLAP V/Dragon combo and the RLAP Baseball Cap. I have had the pleasure of speaking on the phone to you both in the past and reiterate my thanks to you for the wonderful job you are doing and for passing the techniques on to us. I know a 60yr old who has been riding most of his life and kept dropping his Road King at low speeds. He thought he knew it all and you can imagine the suprise he got when I mounted his road king and started doing figure 8s completely on the floorboards. He was stunned and when he asked where I had learned how to do that I told him Jerry ‘Motorman’ Palladino and pointed him to the website and have pointed many others to it as well.

I will continue to monitor the website and you can rest assured in me you have a satisfied customer for life.

Be happy, healthy and safe and most of all:

    Stay Upright!

    Best wishes always

Purchased the video on Saturday for my 12 year old daughter and bought her first bike on Sunday.  Of course she watched the video on Saturday after seeing your show at the Texas State Hog Rally.  Took her new bike out on Sunday and could already see her using your techniqes 15 minutes into her starting to ride.  *** training for beginning rider.  Even picked up a few techniques my self being a 35 year rider.

  285. George - September 28th, 2009

Ride Like a Pro….well worth it!!!

I just wanted to put my 2 cents in about Ride Like A Pro videos. When I

bought my first gen last year I went to get my Motorcycle endorsement on my

license and BOMBED the riding test embarassingly on my first try.

I had let my old endorsement lapse when I sold my last bike and in the 20

year interim, the test changed drastically. I questioned if I had made a

mistake in buying a big bike. Then a friend I work with loaned me his copy

of Ride Like A Pro IV. I watched the video start to finish and then hit

Walmart for a couple of cans of tennis balls to cut in half to make my own

practice cones. I practiced an hour a day 3 days a week for the next 2

weeks, reviewing parts of the DVD each time before going out and practicing

    on the bike.

When I went back to re-test, the examiner asked if I was sure I wanted to

try the test on a big cruiser, something I thought laughable. If I couldn’t

pass the test on the bike I was going to ride on the road what business did

I even have being on the road? Its like asking someone testing for their CDL

if they wouldn’t be more comfortable driving a Pinto.

Anyway, I took the test and passed EVERY section with flying colors…to the

point where the examiner actually used the word, “Wow!” As I was stowing my

gear before heading into the office to have my picture taken for my license

3 people who had been observing the tests came over to ask how I had learned

to ride like that. I told them how I had bombed the first test and used the

    Ride Like A Pro dvd.

Im a huge believer in it. Its worth buying a copy.

  286. Joseph - September 28th, 2009

    Motorman Jerry Palladino and Crew:

Thank you all so very much. I know that it must not be too much fun for

ya’ll to come here to Texas in the midst of rain and cool weather and have

to put on a class (2 classes). I have to tell you, I learned so much in such

a short period of time and became so much more acquainted with the

possibilities available to me in the operation and performance of my

Like I told you Jerry, I have been riding motorcycles for over 45 years.

I cannot believe the extent of what I learned in such a short time. Your

individual attention made a giant difference to me; how to handle this

behemoth. I have ridden Harleys for most of my motorcycling years.  I

switched to the Goldwing 1800 a year ago and have had some trepidations

concerning my ability with the bike since. Today, I was given the tools to

make my riding skills substantially better, and with practice I know I can

gain the confidence I need to do the maneuvers instinctively.

You, your wife and daughter in law and the Sugarland Officers all were

so supportive of us all, so much so that even rain did not damper the

spirits of the rider/students. I am anxious to share my experience with my

fellow Police Escort riders and hopefully get another class going either

locally or in Houston. I’d love to repeat the class.  Thank you all so much

and I hope you enjoy stay in the San Antonio, New Braunfels and San Marcos.

  287. Rick - September 17th, 2009

I Have a summer home in Andrews NC and ride the Dragon and many roads up there. After watching your dvd of how to ride the mountains I enjoy it much more, I have been rideing over 40 years and was surprized how much there was to re-learn. I have asked my guest who use the house as a biker base to watch it before they ride ,some do, some don’t.After some recent mishaps, today we have decided that anyone who uses my house must watch it. If a guest does not want to watch then go to a hotel! I just thought you would like to know how some people view your work. Thankyou   Rick

  288. Gaetan - September 15th, 2009

I would like to thank you for the information but more so thank you for giving us such a great product.  I am 53 years old and been riding on and off for nearly 30 years.  Never took a riding course but always wanted to ride like those police officers.  I bought a Yamaha Royal Venture at the end of July and felt very ackward with it.  Especially after riding a Honda VFR for 5 years before trading it in for the RSV.

I had seen videos of you guys but was never the type of person to buy this type of products.  So I took a chance and I am so happy I did it.  Since I bought the RSV I could not do a U-turn on my street without duck walking the bike.  Today I did it a decent slow speed uturn in front of my house.  It took me to practice slow speed control, slow speed cone wave, circle and uturn in a parking an average of twice a week for the past 3 weeks.  I love it.

    Thank you once again,

If you ever come to Ontario, Canada in the Kingston area I want to know because I want you guys to teach me.

    Take care,

  289. Ray N. Jr - September 10th, 2009

I bought Ride Like a Pro 5 a few months ago. Great video and production. Thanks to your video and many times plowing the ground, (drops), I can now do figure 8’s in a 20′ box.

Thank you very much, the video is money well spent and it is huge fun practicing everyday!

  290. Richard Worst - September 8th, 2009

I just wanted to give a big thumbs up to Ride Like A Pro NJ ! Bill and Al are top notch. They are patient and knowledgeable and could not be more personable or professional! I have recommended this course to anyone who will listen. Any *** can get a bike going fast and semi straight, impress yourself and your friends by being able to drive slow and turn it !

With the knowledge I gained in this course I have the confidence and skills to actually USE my bike daily. Its is comforting to be able to turn around in less space then a tractor trailer requires! I have been riding on and off for 29 years and this is the FIRST year that I have a level of comfort in my abilities. A big round of applause to all involved in this program, you owe it to yourself and your families to get this training.

    Keep up the good work,

    Richard Worst

  291. Chip Overbay - September 1st, 2009

I ride a Honda VFR 800 and I wanted to let Jerry know how informative and

instructive his video is.  I took the basic MSF class when I started riding

15-years ago and have read numerous books and articles on riding but Ride

Like a Pro is hands down the best training tool I have come across.  Thank

you for an excellent teaching tool.

Just to let you know, I do wave at Harley guys and gals when I ride, I just

don’t use all my fingers, (just kidding).  I wave to everyone on a bike.

    Thank you again.

  292. Terry Kasper - August 31st, 2009

    Hi Jerry and Crew,

I wanted to let you know that I took the RLAP course this past weekend in New Jersey and loved every minute of it.  The instructors (Al and Bill)were top notch.  Can’t say enough about their instruction.    Thanks for sharing these much needed skills!! 😉 TK in NH.

  293. Peter King - August 29th, 2009

    Jerry and Team,

Many thanks to you and your wife for your outstanding videos and book.  You have helped me more than the 5 rider classes I’ve taken.  People, get the DVDs and book, it will change your riding life for the better.

  294. Shaunie - August 21st, 2009

I usually don’t write emails about products I’ve purchased, but I felt I had to on the Ride Like a PRO V DVD. Let me just say I finished my MSF class last month & have been done a poor job with the motorcycle ever since. I bought a Honda Shadow Spirit 750. I made the excuse that the bike was too big for me. I was afraid to make turns or to lean the bike in any way. I got a dry mouth & heart flutters every time I got on the bike. I guess you could call me a Timid Tina!

Well, I just finished practicing the slow race, slow cone weave & circle exercise (in a dirt parking lot no less). OMG I nailed it!  =0) I am so excited that I don’t have to give up motorcycling because I’m too afraid of my bike. THANK YOU for making this available for every motorcyclist. The techniques work (even on a klutzy lady like me)! I don’t want to sound corny, but you’ve change my life. Now I enjoy getting on the bike & I can’t wait until I can get on again.

    Thanks Again!

  295. George Wurtzinger - August 19th, 2009

Jerry, you know what you do but you may not realize the impact you have on others. Let me share your impact on me.

I am 63 years old and was only on a small bike once while in the Army. I rented one at Fort Gordon, GA in 1966. My only instruction was the location of the controls. I was on my way – young and foolish.

The feeling of riding grabbed me. All these years, I watched others enjoy the sport. Finances always got in my way. All of a sudden, I realized how many years had passed and how few may remain.

I bit the bullet and took the MSF course. In fact, I took it 3 times! The driving skills exercises were okay but the tests caused my anxiety to soar.

Then I found your videos on Youtube and watched them over and over. They gave me confidence and I continued to practice.

Finally, I was able to pass the drivers’ road test. I had already done my shopping and decided to buy a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. I am 6’2″ 265# so I wanted something big enough that was affordable. It feels great to me!

Then, AFTER receiving my license and buying my motorcycle, I ordered your DVD and really delayed my on street practice until I received it. Your Youtube videos whet my appetite but I wanted more.

I placed the order last Friday afternoon and it arrived yesterday (Tuesday) morning. That was fast.

Instead of going out and enjoying the sunshine (that is more rare in northern Illinois than it is in Florida), I sat at my computer and watched the civilian section of RIDE LIKE A PRO V.

It was an investment in my practice. I didn’t realize how many sloped intersections we have but after watching the video, my confidence level was reinforced. I knew I had practiced the skills and your demonstration of the skills helped me do them.

I am not arrogant enough to think that watching the DVD is all I need to do. I will continue to watch it over and over and I will also continue to practice my skills. I want to improve.

Thanks to you, YOUR WIFE and the rest of your staff for what you do! Please remind them of how valuable they are too!

    George Wurtzinger

  296. Terry Richardson - August 18th, 2009

Wanted to say how impressed I was watching Donna ride in the shows at a Rally this past weekend in Ohio.  First of all, I’ve been riding for 22 years and can’t ride like Donna. You impressed the hell out of me and my buddies watching your show. Thanks. I bought your book and DVDs and hope to ride as good as Donna, what an inspiration.

  297. Gina and Mark - August 16th, 2009

    Hi Jerry and Donna,

My husband and I were lucky to see you both at the Rally at the Peak this weekend.  Thank you for opening up our eyes.  I still cannot believe how Donna whips that huge Harley around like a feather, what an inspiration. Thank you for doing the classes up here, our friends were at your Friday class and were raving about how much they learned from the two of you.  Your show is the best we’ve ever seen.  Keep doing what you do, we need you out here!

  298. Ron Clanton - August 12th, 2009

    Jerry & team

Your techniques proved immediately useful!  I am getting back in to riding after a 19 year break.  Less than 6 hours after picking up my Harley Ultra Classic, our group leader made a wrong turn on a back country 2-lane road with no shoulder.  I went through my progressions; foot on the rear brake, feather the clutch, give it a little gas, dip into the turn and *** results.  That 8’3″, 900 lb Harley made the turn with 6 inches to spare!  And then I got a good laugh as I watch my “experienced” buddies duck walk their bikes back and forth to turn around.  Thank you very much for the excellent techniques and encouraging us to practice in parking lots first.

  299. Paul Williams - August 4th, 2009

    Hi Jerry and Donna,

Thank you both for the great work you both do for all us riders. I bought your book and Ride Like a Pro DVD, they have truly helped me become a much safer and accomplished rider.  My confidence and skills have improved by leaps and bounds and I can’t thank you enough. Keep up the good work.  Also, please give your son our thanks for his service to our Country.

Jerry,  just wanted to say that your video is just excellent and of

considerable help with my passing the Virginia Harley sponsored Riding

Concepts certification course.  On the first go, I did okay but managed to

touch the front brake on the 135 degree curve part of the test and ate

concrete on a rainy Sunday.  Two months later, after getting a Honda 250

Rebel, and using your tape as guidance, I took the course again and was able

to learn far more than the first time-plus I was confident and performed

well.   Also, my compliments to the girls in your video- it’s a real

pleasure to see clean cut, attractive and fit ladies on a motorcycle.  The

video was well done and very professional.  I will continue to work the

perishable skills to accommodate my move to large bike- looking at the

Rocker or Fat Boy.  Best regards, Jon

    Jerry & Donna,

The new website looks great! Also, congratulations on the release of the new RLAP Book … just ordered two copies today. Looking forward to learning and applying any new tips. Just like the DVDs, I’m sure that the information and presentation will be first class and highly useful.

Received the book in the mail yesterday, and began reading it last night.  The combination of the DVD and the book is a great help.  Can not wait to get home and practice.

    To: Jerry Palladino & Ride Like a Pro Crew;

First I would like to thank you for what you are doing, and I greatly appreciate what I have learned from your DVD’s. I’ve been riding for about 4 years now, but it wasn’t until last fall that I decided that during the winter, I was going to brush up on the basics of riding. I re-read books that I had first purchased when I started riding and looked up articles concerning riding & safety issues on the internet; that’s when I ran into your web site. By the way, when re-reading that stuff after a couple of years, you tend to catch on and see things a bit differently and more clearly. I purchased a few of your DVD’s and started going through them. I quickly realized that this was a whole new dynamic in terms of the manner of riding. A lot of these exercises appeared to be easy (and they are), but if you don’t have the proper technique, approach, and attitude, these obstacles can seem impossible – especially when your ride is a Yamaha Venture. NYPD uses the HD Road King; I immediately started to compare the specs between the two and became resigned to the fact that my bike is bigger, longer, and heavier, and there’s no way that I could get close to an 18′ radius turn. I called and spoke with someone there (I believe it was your son) and he told me that there was someone that works with you who has the same bike and has no problems handling the Venture. Well, I worked at it and once I started to scrape the floor boards, that was it. I can now turn that beast within 18′ and I’ve had spotters tell me that I’m probably within 17′ because I had some room to spare. I thought I knew how to ride before, but I was wrong. I now ride with far more confidence and I handle my motorcycle with less stress which allows me to focus and assess my immediate environment more proficiently. The DVD’s make great gifts and your recent clips on Stephanie are a great way to strip away any excuses (and I have heard a few). It truly shows others that it’s the knowledge of the techniques and not the amount of years that you’ve been riding that makes you a better, smarter, and safer rider. I sincerely believe that you and your crew are directly responsible for saving a few bikers’ lives.

You all ride safe & keep teaching.

    Sincerely Lou,

    Brooklyn Star Chapter 265

    Safety Officer

PS: I can’t wait to read the book!

I absolutely love video #5. I bought it shortly after purchasing my ’97 Ultra Classic so I could better master handling a big bike. Since that time, I have loaned out that DVD to at least 20 of my customers here at the dealership. I consistently recommend your videos and pass on the techniques you teach every chance I get. Congrats on a terrific product.

    Hi Jerry,

Thanks for the dvd the best thing I have bought for years.  I practice the exercises most weekends, it was scary at first …still is a bit but my confidence is growing. People now watch me and a few friends have joined in even though they have been riding Wings for years they can’t do many of the simple exercises on the dvd.  Thanks again.

  313. Les Hodges - June 10th, 2009

I have just got my licence to ride just recently I am 64 and my wife got hers at the sametime. mind you she’s not as ancient as I am. but we got the bug in 08 when we visited your bonneville speed week. Every body rides a Harley in the US !!!We aquired a couple of copies of Jerry’s ride like a pro series, and they have made things so much more easy for both of us to be safer riders, we both now ride yamaha XVS V twins. sorry guys, Harleys here in Australia cost an Arm and a Leg you have to sell the wife the house and the dog to buy one.(now theres a thought) just wanted to sing the praises of the video series even here down under Cheers  Les

I just found his site, and I can’t stop reading. I’m so anxious to get the video. Slow speeds are rough for me, and I so want to improve.

Motorman I just wanted to let you know how your instructional DVD’s have helped me to gain more and more confidence in my riding. Every time on the road making turns or braking your instructions came into my mind. Again thanks from a guy who rides a Honda Silver Wing scooter.
